Last week, my buddy went to look at a car. It said something like "Old AMC. I am posting this for my Mom as my Dad passed away. Car is all torn apart. Needs lots of work. $1000 or best offer."
I am paraphrasing, but the ad was pretty close to this. He went to look at it and trailered a 1970 Mark Donohue AMX away with a 390 and 4-speed. The seats were taken out of the car and the wheels were off. He gave the lady $2000 because he felt bad. The car has no rust.
You never know unless you go look.

Interesting. I have looked all over the classifieds and Craigslist around here and cannot find it advertised anywhere. Still don't think I am "buying it"... but the offer still stands to go look at it if someone would like.

got a second response from a man named Mark Miraslov. This is what he says:
"Due to the high volume of internet scams, I give you the chance to receive the car at your home address BEFORE i receive my money for it. I appreciate your interest but I want to let you know that the car is located in Poland. I purchased the car in US and I moved to Europe, in Poland the law is different recording the registration of a vehicle that is outside of Europe, it is expensive and difficult to register this car in Poland, this is the reason of selling. Instead of letting it sit in the garage I've decided to sell it at low price.
I can ship the car to you, also I can be responsible for the transport cost and you'll pay after inspection. The car looks and runs fantastic! Within 19 days you will get the car and you will have a period of 2 days to inspect the car and when the inspection period ends, if everything is fine you can make the payment.
CLEAN TITLE IN HAND, NO LIENS OR ISSUES!"
Sounds too good to be true. He will ship at his expense, from Poland to Arizona? Got to be a hook.. someplace..

As expected.
Looking through that website, seems like damn near every car on there has an absurdly low price. Scams everywhere.

Of course there will be a minor problem and he won't be able to ship the car unless the buyer will send him $5000 or so toward the shipping fee. Once the buyer does that he will ship it immediately! LOL After that the buyer will never see his money or the car and surprise surprise the buyer will never be able to contact the seller after the money is received  . |

I believe you may be right Keith. The likely scenario that I saw was all of your private information required to ship the car and from that they duplicate your identity and steal the $23,000 they are asking for the car and any other moneys you have "laying around" some bank.

I'm sure you are right Dan. I think anyone who bites on this ad is asking for trouble. I think 1795 is right, Run Forest Run!
