Can I ask what the rear end is out of?
The rear wheel knuckle assembly has no support at the top, for/aft yes, in/out no.

Gary, I am sure that if the photos gave you a better look at the rear end you will recognize a 1965 Jaguar E type rear end. The outboard propeller shaft is supported by the rear hubs, sway bar, and watts link that all support fore and aft movement.

Adrian and I were just down at American traditions to look at the cobra. The car is presently at upholstery having new Wilton wool carpeting installed. I'm not sure what else needs to be done but it's less than a week away after it gets back from upholstery. It is definitely red.!

I haven't used one myself, and now seeing that, I think the rear end is a poor design.
The rear shafts take suspension load, since there is no top control arm.
What's happening with the diff side bearings, and the universals?
Just take the shaft out, and tell me the rear wheel is still supported.

Dan, I don't see a thread starter. I only have one good eye, so am I missing it ?
I think the frame, suspension and body looks awesome. Could put some polish aluminum or stainless bling, on some suspention parts to break up the beautiful black, but it still looks great.

Funfer One Eye,. I'm not sure that I know what you mean by thread starter? What exactly are you looking for?

I thought that when you said, "The frame.has been recoated", it looked like you had maybe explained the build from the start of your project somewhere else, like before you painted the frame, assembled the suspension, etc.....

There is another thread that discusses the frame off restoration. This was posted as a response to a left-handed comment about my orange car. certain Certain persons have been giving me trouble about my orange car for a long time. This was just me.shootimg back...in a friendly manner of course.

You'll get back lash on evey forum, including here. It sucks, but there's not much you can do about it, other than dismiss the situation or inform a moderator.
A lot of people have stopped being on social media websites forums because of these issues, even me. I left for a few years, but came back. Try to just grim and bear it. I even got some BS about my kiss spelling, which I don't give a hoot..
Anyway, please give me your thread, I'd love to follow your build !

I guess I wasn't real clear. The person giving me the hard time about my orange car is a long time friend. We horse collar each other regularly and try to make the best of a backhanded friendship. It's been a very long time since I've succumb to any harassment from anybody online. I appreciate the concern but it's really not necessary Kevin.

The Chevy Orange is gone and now the car is actually RED. I suppose there was the possibility that once upon a time, it had looked red, but that must have been 'way before I ever saw it.
I'm thinking that now, with the new paint job, all the gouges from running into Al's car (twice) are also gone?

All of the marks from four wheeling are also gone. There were never however, any scratch dents dings or bruises from trying to drive uphill or from being outrun by my own back wheel. It would appear that red is in the eyes of the beholder.

"Boy! NOW THAT IS RED! No one will call your cobra orange again."
OK, it finally dawned on me that Danr had the car painted an actual RED so that he can participate in the annual Cars n Coffee Fourth of July event and be with the White and Blue Cobras that are featured.

The frame off restoration is getting very close. One side pipe is a bit short but we will get it fixed.
