Ford v Ferrari Movie
I checked with Harkins about renting a theater to watch Ford v Ferrari on the Saturday morning after release. Thought it would be fun gathering.
Doesn’t matter movie release or popularity of movie, as long as after release date. They wanted head count, time, date, movie. Bottom line is for a room that seats up to 64 people the fee is $547. That’s over $8.50 per person.
Too much for me. I will just go see it myself.

What you should do is see who in the Ferrari club wants to see the movie. Then tell the theater you will all come and park your cars out front to create a stir. Mini car show. At that rate they should run the movie for a reduced rate for you as you would be creating some interest for others to come to the theater. They could use social media and the local news to help promote it- lol- Although it never turn out the way its planned.

I am going to help someone with the same idea for a 3pm show at Westgate AMC after a car show on Sunday November 17. Will post car show registration which will include movie. We will see.

Bob, I would feel a little strange leaving my car sitting in front of a theater with no one to watch it... Too many curious people with sticky fingers.. I hate fingerprints...

I like this idea, but we could keep it simpler: Let's just designate a time and theater on each side of town and all show up at the same time. I'm so far out east that driving to a west side theater would take an hour and a half. Hell, we have so many senior citizens that we could probably do a nice, uncrowded matinee and still be home in time for our naps.

Boy, I had this great idea! The Ford v Ferrari movie is out in November, when it's nice and cool. Glendale has a drive-in theater! We could all go and watch the movie while sitting in our Cobra's or other fast Fords. Then I remembered that modern drive-in movies depend on the viewers streaming the sound track on their FM radio. How many of us have radios? Show of hands please. JAFM owners, keep your hands down. :-(

Portable FM radios with Bluetooth are dirt cheap.
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-FM-...MQA5892DQY4217
Or if you need a handheld,
https://www.amazon.com/LCJ-Mutifunct...ireless&sr=1-6
Some Android phones have a built in FM tuner and use the earphones as an antenna. From there you can Bluetooth to a battery powered speaker box (Bose has several models) for areawide sound.

Drive-in movie lots are generally covered with pea gravel and I'm not sure I want to drive my car on pea gravel and risk all those stones being thrown into the paint. After all the paint is brand new and I'd like to keep that way a while.

Danr, you'll have to come up with a better/different excuse. The whole lot is paved
Of course, the probabilities of your car being on the road are, er, not excellent. But is sure do look nice with its new paint job!

Oh
My
God.
What's next Danr? You gonna join the "Back it out of the garage, wash and wax it, then pull it back into the garage" crowd...????
I'm gonna have to take one for the team and throw a rock at Dan's car the next time I see it; just so he can get all the tears and Boo-Hoo's about that first rock chip out of his system...
I am totally down for the group movie trip (drive-in or matinee)

Alright you Az. boy's I have to post in 2 different forum's , Yours & the Nw Forum, since you never seem to have time to read what I post there (Or God forbid, you don't care). My Snake now has Venom Karl has the proof, even though he thought it was a toilet flushing in the background. And here all this time Karl, I thought you liked a Sideoiler Hummm. Rob's neighbor came over after hearing a BIG BLOCK start up, (I'm sure you Az. gentlemen will get a good laugh out of this, just because you're all so damn witty, or is that witless ). He said, your car is not a BELT after all? I said how so? A Cobra that doesn't run (Or Have any Venom) is just a BELT So gentleman and Danr I will make the unveiling on the 11th after all. Cheers Boy's, Tommyrot. If I knew how download the video, of it up & running, I would, Brent, do you know how????

Tom, giving it a try, first video post attempt below (Tom's - Startup Drive Video) - Brent
(Ok Tom, the video link below to Imgur worked fine, with volume too after I upgraded Imgur. Unfortunately, it also shows Imgur site 'popular' posts that have nothing to do with my account nor anything I've ever looked at. I'll try to figure a way to suppress that b.s. - but at least your Cobra lives and we have proof! Also, I wasn’t able to show the video as a picture with an arrow to start as I wanted, just went with a link which I had done once before.) Brent

Nice car Tom. Who's is it really? And by the way Rob you throw rocks at my Cobra and I'll throw rocks at your cobra. Oh wait a minute you don't have a cobra anymore do you? Hmmmm.

First off Rob and the rest of you, leave our 'poor ol'danr' alone about the first rock chip, as I too am dreading the first chip, Rob's (Our Snake Charmer) dusty driveway still has me waking up in the middle of the night in Cold Sweats and that's just DUST . Second, thank you Danr, I can't remember this owner's name 'Tommyrot' or some silly name, but after just scratching the itch in the the last "borrowed" Cobra (Thanks Tim & Jamie) I had to find another new big block car to use Karl, nice to hear you didn't shoot any bunnies, or other such small animal's (just with your camera) while in Africa, and you made home without being something else's dinner Cheers Boy's.

Should wear the stone chips as a 'badge of honour', IMO
Apart from a "bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato" sandwich - or something that holds your trousers up - what's a BELT?
Cheers,
Glen

The movie is a good idea Bob. I prefer the theater to a drive in but am in either way. If we do the theater I am sure we can line up someone to watch the cars for us.
BTW I have 8K miles on my cobra and not a single paint chip!
