QuickFuel 750 mechanical. Ability to change all jets especially idle fuel restrictor. Most Holley carbs have a fixed idle fuel orifice and it's too big.

Quick Fuel 650 cfm on a 347 ci engine. Set up on dyno then final adjustments made with a O2 sensor in pipes. No choke also. I have not touched any adjustments in over FIVE years.

I had "Pro Systems" build a carb for my Biggie Rat and was totally pleased. Bolted it on, set idle speed, and WOW! I even loaned it to my Buddy, Camaro Bob, and he liked it so well that he ordered one. There's an extensive info sheet to fill out and Patrick will build a carb specific to your needs. At the time it was maybe $100 more than a HiPo Holley off the shelf and so worth the money. Your asked, I'm telling. My 2¢ worth.

I have a 850DP with mechanical secondaries and 4 corner idle I rebuilt myself. I did have Holley re-dichromate the carb since it was previously installed on my Chevelle big block car... I eliminated the choke and did the tuning myself (if you are not familiar there are a couple of books out there that have VERY good information). I understand that not everyone is a carb guru and that small businesses need to make money but I really try to shy away from paying for something I can do myself. I personally find that Holley carbs are VERY EASY to tune given the basic knowledge set. My main advice on the matter is, you can usually make a larger carb run smaller but not the other way around... within reason

Holley Ultra XP 850, BLP Rapid Jet Metering Blocks, External PV referencing.
Constructed from all new parts.
PV opening point externally adjustable, all fuel and air metering can be changed without removing a fuel bowl.

Spent days on a chassis (not engine) dyno with a virtually unlimited supply of carbs and came to the conclusion, bigger is not always better

I had a Quick Fuel 780 vs, it would not work well below 1800 rpm with a big cam, no carb will without steady vacuum. Ended up going with a FiTech 800 hp system. Little bit of a learning curve, but it runs smooth and compensates for altitude. Had to add 177 lph in tank fuel pump and a return fuel line.

My cam is not real big considering the size of my engine (482 ci)....cam is 242/248 at .050 with 112 LSA and lift at .642 intake and .631 exhaust. Installed 4 degrees advanced. Runs great everywhere even below 1800 rpm but I never run there. Likes 3000-6000 best. But....it is a carb so it runs rich at altitude and doesn’t like the cold and....
But it does work as well as any carb I have ever used...

I'm running twin Quickfuel 750s on my 482" KC side-oiler. I had Quickfuel custom build them exactly for my engine. On the chassis dyno they ran 14.7 AFR at idle and 12.4 AFR through the RPM band at WOT.

Holley 770 Street Avenger. Works well, once I sorted out the choke pull-off - when I got it the choke opened about 1/4 as much as it now does.
