Default Alternate Idea

Since Rt 66 is cancelled this year and it looks like this thing will be on the downside by the end of April, what about a run to the Shelby Museum in Las Vegas? Anyone else interested?

I was actually thinking the same thing. Just waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Mark, think you'll have your car back by September?

Well Danr, you've gotten people interested. I'm pretty much always up for a drive, even if it is only to LV.
What's your proposal?
Over night?
Where?
Museum open?
When?

Well, my thoughts were to drive up Friday and instead of stopping in Kingman go all the way to Las Vegas layover Friday night spend Saturday at the Shelby museum Saturday night do whatever and then Sunday drive home. I'm guessing that due to the way things are it will have to be a last-minute call probably not before the second week of April.

The LV museum is only good for a couple hours. Just not that big or that much to see. A tour of the dam would be most excellent, but I don't know just when they'll open that up.
Where else is there to go in the general area?

If you're up for an overnight trip then a drive to Red Rocks or Valley of Fire is worth it.

Alternate Alternate.. Earlier this year, Mark and Lisa, Karl and Adriana and I took a drive to lake Havasu. A lovely place and lots to see and do. Mark and I kicked around the idea of spending Thursday night there before Rt. 66. Now that we are likely on our collective own how about we leave on Thursday, spend Thursday and Friday night in Havasu, drive to Las Vegas on Saturday morning stay a couple of nights, then drive home on Monday? If this Covid crap clears up in time..
