Sweet car and it probably even comes with cup holders.

13:1 compression is a bunch. Does it have some trick valve/cam/timing set up so you'll be able to get by without racing gas?

Cup holders and heated seats!

They get away with the high compression through a combination of aluminum heads, piezo-electric fuel injectors, variable cam timing and an efficient combustion chamber design with 4 valves per cylinder.

I thought they must have some super hi tech VooDoo tricks to be able to get away with that much compression.

Sounds most excellent!

Welcome to the world of "I used to own a Cobra..." Mike.

Question is: What's your new nickname gonna be? I have to imagine you threw all your extra bottles of Windex and microfiber towels in the trunk for the new owner... right?

Indeed along with an FE starter, lead hammer, spinner removal tool, K&N air filters, carb cleaner.....

I am sure the Cobra gang will find an appropriate nickname for me!

Gary, too late. He already has a "Porch" on order.

Not surprisingly, “polished bare metal” was not an optional color choice.

Will see how long it takes to get it. Not a model they make a lot of and I am waiting for the dealer to get an allocation so they can put my order in. Should have ordered it a year ago. Oh well “das ist leben”....

Porsche just calls it "Paint to Sample" but I doubt they have ever had someone request polished aluminum! LOL

Well, I got impatient, and while waiting for the dealer to get an allocation and then submit my order I started surfing around and found an exact copy of the car that I had ordered except it was black instead of white. At the Porsche dealer in Santa Clara California, and available now. In fact I located it the day it arrived. So now I am the proud owner. After it gets the clear film applied to the front of the car it will be shipped to Phoenix. Probably get here in a couple of weeks

Another way is with valve overlap.... meaning both intake and exhaust are open at same time allowing some air and fuel to pass through without being compressed, nullifying some of the mechanical compression.

Super car! Now you can carry gallons of Ultimate Detail spray instead of Windex.

My 97 Corvette was black, and I painted my 69 corvette black back in the early 2000's...

I went back. Haven't owned a black car since 2006, and that's just FINE with me....

Congrats on the purchase Mike! I like the GT4 a lot better than the 911 (except you'll still be driving it around backwards all the time )

If you thought cases of Windex were hard to keep in stock, just wait until you find out how fast you go through California dusters and detailing spray....

I'm waiting a couple more years to see if the rumors about GM swapping the 6.2 liter pushrod engine for a a 550hp 5.5 liter flat plane engine in the 2023 C8 are true.. If they are, then that just might be my next "guilty-pleasure"...

But it won't be black, for sure.

Indeed. I wanted the white but it was going to be another 6-9 months wait. By then I would’ve been going crazy. This car has sort of a gangster look.....black wheels, black paint, black interior... I may have to move to Miami and buy an offshore racing boat or something in order to own this car...:-).

Kind of funny going from “everything polished aluminum” to black.

I do like this car a lot better than 911....It’s lighter, naturally aspirated, and more of a sports car.

Still won’t be able to keep up with the cobra gang.

Mike
