Karlos, I'm afraid we have lost both Phx. Mike & RB to the dark side Mr. Moore, I could of have sworn, you said, the next toy, would be another Cobra? Now Porsche's & Corvettes "Oh My" Cheers TommyRot.

Well the new machine is in the garage. Not driving it until I get the paint protective film on the front. It is very black (wheels, body, inside....) - Rob I can already relate to what you were saying above...just looking at it will leave a scratch....
Kind of weird to hear the engine over my shoulder instead of in front of me....and it sounds like it’s in the car with you (because it is..)
15 inch brake rotors....They look like garbage can lids.

Congrats Mike. New cars are so exciting. Hope it doesn't melt in the garage. Did you find a special place for the clear bra?

Takin it to the Porsche dealer for the film. They did Jami’s Macan and it turned out really well. I was going to have the dealer in California that I bought it from do it but they send it to a 3rd party and are still in COVID lockdown and could not even get me a date estimate. Also a lot more expensive there.
Get that done on Thursday and then I am good to go. Hope it starts cooling off soon so we can do more drives.
Also finding that the online community for Porsche is...how shall we say... a little different than I am used to. As in flossing the tire treads and all worried about what kind of nano-ceramic surface coating is best, and whether or not to have the car key painted to match the car...I am not sure I am going to fit in with them so please keep a space for me with the Cobra bunch....
Mike

Mike, been there done that. Brought the hat, shirt, the whole PCA thing. Had a nice little 77 911S, for Auto-X, and used their track days for Tune & Test for the racing Alfa GTV, well after running down & embarrassing newer 911's and such, they told me not to bring it back anymore. So got rid of "Buffy or was it Muffy" the Porsche girlfriend, sold my Gold chain collection, and never looked back Cheers TommyRot.

Indeed. Wait til I show up with my Ford shirt on. I do like the car (would like it better without the wing). Supposedly it adds a lot of downforce but I feel like I am driving a Chaparral.

Yeah, you're gonna have to go out and just get that first ding on it, just to get it over with... Like rippin' off a band-aid

Does the wing automatically adjust for more down force as the speed increases? Was amazed the first time I followed some sort of Hunn-mobile, maybe a Carrera? and its ducktail emerged as we got moving along a bit more briskly.

It does not change with speed but can be adjusted manually in two positions - Normal and “extra downforce”. For the latter they also tell you to pull out the restrictors in the air inlets that feed the diffuser under the car.

This is a true story : I drove my 911S down from Seattle to Portland (Years ago) to a PCA National meet. Thought I would do the Concourse, so wiped the bugs off the front of the car, and went to register, a gentlemen in my class, came up in a "Panic" and asked if I have a #5 toothbrush !!!! I looked in my detail kit, and handed him, the (One and only) toothbrush I had, "Good God Man, that's a #2, that will never work on the tire tread" So Mike something to look forward too Cheers TommyRot.

Cop Magnet
Looks bad in black! Put a police sticker on the front window corner, maybe they'll give you a break and not tow your car for Xcess speed. They will impound your car here for 30 km's over the limit
1 sweet ride!

Did this topic get hijacked? Kirkhams don't have wings... Apparently there's a picture of something but where?

It did get highjacked a little but it is up to $135k with a few days left. It appears to be doing better than it would at a traditional auction but you couldn't build one for that. Tommy Rot, I also love wearing my Ford shirt while driving my Porsche to the track or to cars and coffee just to let them know while I love the car, I am not using any toothbrush near my car
