Default Newbie

Just took delivery of my new RT4. Took it for a spin in my neighborhood and noticed the oil temp pushing 260. Of course it was 110 and not getting up to much speed. Will I need an oil cooler for our hot summer days? Also will I need a Level 2 or Level 3 inspection prior to title and registration? Thanks and looking forward to you responses.

260 degrees is wayyyy too high for a spin around the neighborhood. You either have an engine problem or the gauge is just plain wrong. Confirm your oil temp with an infrared gun first.

Welcome to the most fun you can have in a car. If you have a massaged windsor 427 the answer is yes, you will need an oil cooler for driving here. Something else is wrong also. Find out more about your motor parts from the installer or last owner. Come back here with questions, or take it to someone who knows motors.

Default Stroked 351 / Iconic

Thanks, it is a 351 stroked Iconic. Car is in PHX. I’m in FLG (duhh). Will be down in the next week and check again. Can anyone help me on the Level II or III inspection? Thanks for your help so far.
