Default PCH Run, 2.0

Gary and I have been talking about another run up PCH. I checked yesterday and the landslide is cleared away so there won't be any obstruction. (This time we WILL get sticky buns in Solvang!) We are discussing about the same time frame as last time (mid September). Dress warm to go across the desert no matter how warm it is in Phoenix.

Proposed route is:
Day 1. PHX to Reseda. Overnight at the same motel we stayed in before.
Day 2. LA to Shell Beach/Pismo Beach. Breakfast at Moro Bay (If Karl can find the cafe) then...
Day 3. Santa Cruz
Day 4 or 5: Muir Wood
By Ear Medocino
Ft. Bragg for old time sake..
We can continue north to Oregon or turn east and head back down.

This is all preliminary and nothing is fixed. We are open to ideas. we need to know how many people want to make the trip. So if you are up for it, toss your name in the hat.

There's a new closure south of Big Sur due to a landslide that took place in January. I'm planning on being in Trinidad from September 19-26 for a reunion with old friends. Might take the Cobra.

Scotty, the landslide was January 28. my birthday. According to CalTrans, the road will reopen to traffic both ways by April 30, so our progress should not me impeded.

I might be able to tag along for a short stretch north of LA, maybe as far as Carpenteria. There is a good hamburger place, called "The Spot".
