Default Annual NEW YEARS DAY RUN 2022

It's almost time for our annual New Years Day Cobra run. Many times we've gone to Yarnell for passible food and many opportunities to be sources of revenue for a lurking LEO....right Ralphy and Andrew?

This year:
Meet at the Chevron station, Idaho Rd and the Superstition Frwy. (60)
Lift off at 10am, to give the non-God's Country folks time to get there.
We'll go E. on the 60 to Superior then S on 177, W on 77 to Lupe's in Oracle
Jct. (I checked and they are to be open New Years Day)
We can return either up through Florence North on 79 and on to the 60.
OR, take N79 and cut across ...Links Rd to the West to I10. (can't remember the name)

Hope that lots of youse will get your cars out of the garage and put a few miles on.

We might have to bundle up a bit, it was 37° in East Bumscrew this morning. Hopefully, the later lift off time and not getting into much elevation, will keep us from getting too nipply.

So how many miles you figure? We had a 'Frostbite' cruise on every New Years Day with the DC Capital Area Cobra Club - drove around to some sites and ended up with lunch somewhere. We'll miss that.

Chevron to Superior 32 miles
Superior to Winkleman 32 miles
Winkleman to Lupe's 43 miles
Lupe's to Florence 43 miles
Florence to Mesa 52 miles

202 total plus what ever it takes you to get to and
from the Chevron station.

Fun times. some twisty curvies, some elevation changes, some straight 2 lane blacktop.

Karl,. I just got a note from our friends in Tucson, and it says that they're going to try to meet us at Lupe's on our New Year's Day run. So anybody that wants to talk with Al and Patty, who haven't seen them in a while should join us.

Found my heated pants, I suspect it’s gonna be chilly. Should be fun.

I'm certainly looking forward to the drive but I am concerned about the possibility of rain. AccuWeather is forecasting a 30% chance but who know what that'll be in a few days. I'll have to be putting some veinner-schlikin on my windshield since I don't have wipers.
If worse comes to worse, we could postpone until Sunday since there's 0% chance forecasted now, but I don't want to make that change until I see what's forecasted on Friday. Stay tuned to your local station......

RonnieMan, I had "issues" signing in to the CC site so had to develop a new i.d. and eMail.
Such a sad story.
