Default Electrical help for a Ford

Anybody in the Northwest area good at finding a short? When my dad passed away he left me a 1987 Bronco II. It has an electric short somewhere. You leave it off overnight and the battery is dead by the morning. The ignition is turned off and no lights or radio are on.

I have a feeling it is something simple but I have no clue when it comes to electrical. And I don't know how to use one of those meter things. It has been sitting for almost a year now so no rush, but I could sure use someone's help if they are experienced in this sort of thing.

In fact the day my dad passed away he was trying to fix this problem. I guess I have unfinished business.

Jason,

One thing you might try....remove all the fuses and see if it still runs down. If not add a fuze a day until it does. When it does then that's the circuit you need to look at.

Also, something very overlooked is the battery. Clean it good with Baking soda, top and sides, rinse off with lots of water. Make sure the cables are clean of corrosion.

Mike
