Cool Aloha

My Cobra is going to Hawaii! Does anyone know hou to get the car registersd in someones name that does not live in AZ? The buyer wants to have the car in his name before he ships it to HI.

Does he want you to have him get an AZ title with an Arizona address? If so, it might be tough and illegal.

I guess the only way would be for him or her to send you a power of attorney to change registration.....

Don't know if this pertains I ship a car to some one in the service and the AJ. office handled the paper work and didn't cost any thing for the ride over.

If the buyer can establish Arizona residency, then there shouldn't be a problem with an AZ transfer of title. I don't know how an AZ resident could sell to an out-of-stater and keep the car registered in AZ. I don't think that will work.

Hmmm,,,so another Cobra is headed for the Islands I see. I'm about the only "local" guy that runs regular at Hawaii Raceway Park. I hope this guy won't make the car another "trailor queen". I need some decent competition on the road course. Can't imagine why he would want it titled in AZ before shipping. Maybe insurance reasons?

Heck you could just take the title down to the DMV here and register in whatever name you like. The have NEVER asked for any kind of ID or proof. Just fill in the blanks and get a new title on the spot. Maybe not the easy in AZ? And I didn't say it was legal, just said how it works.
