Ben,

Thanks for the pics...

I understand a number of AZ Cobras stopped by there today. Paul was running his car on the track. He told me about Bob ouch..

Did you get a chance to talk to the chevy powered car's owner?

Mike

No, I didn't see the owner. I've never seen that car before, have you?

It had a "FOR SALE" sign inside, but was partially covered.

Nope..

I have not seen that car before. One of many still unaccounted for.

Saw 3 other cars this weekend I've not seen before. I was going the other way so I did not get a chance to hunt them down.

Talking

I was at the track saturday. Paul was there and
he looked like he was having a blast. Although he was complaining a bit about some woman in a porche blowin' his doors off in the straight away.
Lyle showed up and a few other guys. I left just after the crash
where the corvette,77 trans Am, and that black Cobra with all the ground effects were towed off.

I would like to thank everyone that came out. It was a great weekend.
We had a TV film crew out on Sat. from a show called Arizona Backroads that interviewed myself, Paul, and several others over the weekend. The chevy powered car belongs to a guy in Sedona. He wanted to run the car, but unfortunately I couldn't let him because it has no roll bar. I did take him out in Mike Dicarlo's car for a few laps at the end of Sat, and he had a ball. I hope I didn't scare him. His car is a Butler with a BB chevy in it.
Paul did great in his car. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to ride with you. As you saw it was a very big event and there were heavy demands on my time there.
The Fran-Am series finally when off great. This is a nation touring series. They had so much fun with us that they are coming back for 2003 at the new Arizona Motorsports Park. We will be running on this new dedicated road coarse in March.
Hersh, Thanks for bringing your car out. It was a big hit. I'm hoping at our next event we can go out and have some fun with it.
Ben, Great pics. I didn't see you there. You do know that you can bring out your daily driver and run it, don't you?
Bobs car actually looks worse than it is. He lost his brakes going into turn 1 at about 170mph. He did manage to find the soft spot in the fence. He said he will fix the car and be out next year.
This was our final event of the year. NASA will be starting back up in Jan with a full schedual of events at several different tracks throughout AZ. I hope to see many of you out there.

Thanks for the invite, Gordon. I didn't get out there until late in the day -- Hersh had already left. Glad Bob is okay.

Tell us more about the Arizona Motorsports Park. I haven't even heard anything about it. Where and when? What type of course(s)?

Ben

I had great time on Saturday. I ran this track in Janurary with my old brakes and tires, I had fun then but I boil my brake fluid and spun out once. In April I upgraded to 13" rotors W/ 2 piston calipers and 17" wheels with some good rubber. What a difference!! This time I was running a lot faster in the turns, I only had to wave one car (BMW M5) by the entire day.

Ben take a look
