New guy
Folks,
I am new to this forum and have been doing some cobra research. I'm ready to get a kit soon. Probably a Factory 5. I have seen only pics and would like to see one up close. I would gladly pay for a ride. If anyone would like to set the hook I would be most greatful. I live in North Scottsdale. Thanks,
Jim

Mr.Pink,
Check out the used market... lots of great, already built, cars on the block that this particular time... Fantastic deals on some really fantastic cars. Go to the "cobras for sale" here or go to CobraCountry and check out the deals... A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the builds and they need a good home....

Not sure if you are the same guy that e-mailed me.
I would be disappointed in somebody if they actually charged you for a ride. Mine is sold and I am currently building a Spec Racer so I don't have one to offer a ride. I can say this with confidence that I have yet to run across anybody that was disappointed after a ride. They generally had a from ear to ear and there were some that did the death grip on the carpet on the tunnel and begged me to slow down.
As for manufactures, we have most of them represented in our club. Each one is a little different in their own way. Some are on the top end of value and some are on the lower end of value. Some are for show and some are for go. Really depends on what you want out of the car and your budget.
My story as to why I decided to build a Factory 5 Spec Racer is the first Factory 5 I owned, I did not build. Well after owning it I had no doubt that I wanted to build one so I knew I was going to be selling it. During the time of owning it I realized that I also wanted a track car that could be street legal and reliable and the Spec Racer fit the bill. Only one downfall to owning a Spec Racer is the doors do not open because they are bolted shut so you have to climb in and out. I am still young so this is not a problem for now.
So I urge you to see all the different types that are in our club before you decide. Each one has their own personality and no car is the same.

Mr. Pink
1. If you can make it to Knotts this weekend you will see many flavors of Cobra Replica's.
2. Email me and I'll put you on the Arizona Cobras email list.
3. The Arizona Cobras are having their 2nd annual picnic on April 26th. You are welcome to join us and talk to the members about their various machines.
4. I'll give you a ride Saturday Night if you make Crusin on Central. I and a few others should be parked at Park Square Mall.
Look for a silver/gray FFR. Dual roll bars.

Look for a very old man.
If you haven't guessed yet, I am the young whipper snapper of the bunch. They will tell you stories about me, don't believe them. All untrue!

Mikic, thanks for the invite! Where and when? Also, I just found out about the Knotts thing last week but it's too late for me to go.
Damn. You all seem like a great bunch of guys.

Yes you will find that Cobra guys aren't so bad underneath the oil and gas smell. I haven't ran across one I didn't like. You will find a wide variety of backgrounds but we all pretty much put our pants on the same way and share the same love of these cars.
You won’t find a nicer bunch that jump at the opportunity to help or answer any questions. At least that is my experience after coming on board almost two years ago…..damn has it been that long?
If you are not looking to build I urge you to check out the Cobras for sell on this site and also FFCobra.com if you want to see a variety of Factory 5’s for sell. Also there is Cobra Country generally for the higher priced ones.
There are local builders like Gordon Levy and All Mustang or AMP. Shop around and welcome to the madness of never having enough HP.

mrpink, Randy,
Mmmmhhhh ....... I have to pay between $4 to $4.1 a gallon. Did I make a mistake ? I don't think so, I converted liter into gallon and CHF into USD ....

Walter...I know your fuel is high. What a bummer. The question is, what kind if octane do you get for 4.00 a gallon??
