I got chrome side pipes on my Excal. I love the look, I HATE the maintainence and the burns. Nothing seems to hold the heat in like chrome does! I'll go with black painted side pipes next time. Easy to "dress up" with a can of paint! Jet coating lowers the heat a LOT, maybe I'll do that instead.

Ernie's right Jet-Hot coating keeps the outside of the pipes cooler. Reduces the number of snake bites you may receive. Chroming on the other hand can increase the number of bites.as the pipes feel much hotter and take longer to cool.

Jet-Hot is located in Tempe. Most chrome shops will do the pipes. One more side note, I've been told that the chrome process destroys most baffleing inside the pipes.

Jet-hot coating comes in a variety of flavors. THey can be finished in a polished aluminum look, which, when polished is quite shiny. Not quite as shiny as chrome, but very good-looking.

Chroming is a more expensive process.

I had chrome pipes before. Now I have jet-hot in polished aluminum. I like the look.

Default Jet-Hot coatings

Hello Drmuscato, I am a Dealer for Jet-Hot. I do think it is a great product and I use it everywhere on my Toys. I also give all the local club members a discount. If you choose to go that route give me a call or Email. I have chrome sidepipes but would trade them for Jet-hot as the little scratches woild not show. Jeff C
PS will be at races from Fri. to Sun so can not respond then...

Sorry Jeff C...I forgot when I mentioned Jet-Hot that you were a dealer. I'll try to remember in the future.

I didn't know either. Quit keeping secrets Jeff!

Do you have a list of products and services you are associated with?

I have chrome sidepipes and headers and a friend has the jet hot coated ones that are very nice. I think if I were doing it over and knew about the jet hot I would go that way as the chrome does getvery hot and shows scratches. It will also change color some in the bends.

Hey, Ernie, I see that you got your Excaliber back. Now that you have two, what are you going to do with them ? Race one and drive the other.

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO. I'LL HAVE TO SAY SORRY TO KEVIN AT ANTHEM MOTORS. I WAS ABOUT TO PURCHASE A NEW BACKDRAFT AND WAS GETTING A PRICE QUOTE FROM HIM ON RUNNING GEAR. THATS WHEN I SAW A FFR ON EBAY AND PUT IN A LOW BID. I AM NOW THE PROUD OWNER OF A FFR WITH A 306 AND A VORTECH A TRIM SUPERCHARGER. THE OWNER SAID IT PUTS OUT ABOUT 475 CONSERVATIVELY. IT SHOULD ARRIVE NEXT WEEK SOMETIME. ONCE AGAIN SORRY, BUT I COULDN'T PASS THIS ONE UP. I'LL BE SURE TO BRING IT BUY TO THE SHOP AND HAVE YOU LOOK IT OVER. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP.

Well Jason and Mike, I do have a list of services and suppliers but as you know its a secret>>>> If I can help any of the gang I am always happy yo do that. I am a Jet-hot dealer and purchase almost everything at dicounted prices. In a few cases my cost as a business is higher than some of the advertised prices of the BIG GUYS so I buy at advertised price on those items.
I do a lot of custom fabrication and can weld most of the exotic metals as well, we can do some machine or mill work and have access to sears / brakes and like to do tin work. The latest addition is plating in gold, black chrome, chrome and silver on anything including plastic. My latest jab was gold plating all the parts to a custom spa. It turned out great if I say so myself. So if you need emblems or little items plated in 24K gold I am your man. I can do chrome but do not really like the process. Let me know if you need help.
