Firebird this past weekend/ Cobra sighting
I forgot to mention that as I was driving back from Maricopa I saw some cars racing out at Firebird so I pulled over. As I walked up to the wall fro a brief look I heard a very familiar sound.......what could it be????
I looked over and it was a red with a white stripe Cobra with gold looking rims. It had an old style long and curved hood scoop like you might see on a drag car. It had a drive side hoop and two high back seats, almost looked liek Stree Performers. There was a Porsche right on his a$$ but it seemed it never passed him and he pulled away in the straights. I had to leave because I was hungry and hot from cutting down metal poles all day. Sounded nice and reminded me that I need to get the Spec Racer up and running as soon as we get settled in the new place. |
Yes, we also were out with ASRA for thier yearly night endurance race. It was 160 deg on the track at 3:00pm. Jim, and myself went to watch the cars as they burned up in the heat. It is just to hot to run cars on the track during this time of year.

oops! messed up.........
Anyway the Red Cobra had steering problems, that entangled his wire harnes. He was planning to run the night event, but with no lights he was stuck trying to get the car back home. I know the feeling, the "green Machine" is down, had problems with the motor on Friday. Bent 2 pushrods, and who knows what else....? Getting ready to do a leak down test to determine how bad it is. Those darn cheep two piece pushrods!!! I should have known.............. Brian |
