Run to the pines
I called the guy in charge and he told me they had reached the 550 cars allowed. I wasn't really interested in entering and sitting there all day (8-4) on Sat. However, I am going. Nice weather, hot rods, what could be better?! If anyone else is going, let me know and we could have a barbie at my place in Heber. Fri or Sat. nite. Either one. Even if you don't have a car yet think about it. I have not checked the motel situation. Any info is welcome.

Run To The Pines Car Show
Jim, I will be going up on Friday probably in the morning through Globe. I expect Hershel, Brian, Jeff, Jack, Dave and maybe Stuart, Lysle and others to be there. We will travel in a pack Friday but most likely a smaller group Sunday home through Payson on the Bee Line. Its a great show you should see all the great hod-rods on the golf course. There will be many vendors too and good food at the golf club. Great party Friday night with food at the Hondah Casino. The weather for the last 19 years has been no-rain.
Most likely the local rooms are full except the small mom and pop motels. Come sit with us on Saturday! It's car heaven!

Jim,
Forget the Payson route...
You gotta go through Salt River canyon.

Mike, I can be in Showlow in the time it takes me to get to Globe. And SRC is 50 degrees hotter. However, I will do it this winter sometime. Maybe the club can do it in Nov. or Dec.

Somebody say Food?
Jim,
That sounds like a great idea, we should have a BBQ at your place on the way back. It would be a great time to enjoy the cool before we run to Hell with sprinklers. You can count me in, I hope that we can get more to come? We can work out the details on Saturday at the pines.
Thanks for the invite.........
Brian

Those going to RTP Sept 26:
I will meet up with anyone headed to the Run To The Pines at the Texaco in Apache Junction. First Texaco (unless its changed to Shell) after exiting end of Superstition Freeway headed toward Globe. About 10am Friday. Check into motel about 1 or 2pm. Check In at show about 2pm Friday. For those who want there is a car parade at 4pm then BBQ at Hondah Casino 5pm.
Returning through Payson Sunday. May join up for BBQ in Heber, Mr Pink! Depends on weather. Show usually over about 12pm. Awards about 2pm.
