The moneypit
Well it appears I will be going a tad over budget. I have decided not to settle for a used stock part set up on the Spec Racer. Like my dad would always say, "Do it right and the way you want it done the first time around. "
Don't say anything to my better half. I am still working on how I am going to present this.
One way you guys can help me is if you know anybody that is looking for a house, pass on the word about mine for sale. It might be the house for them.
3 bedroom/ 2 full bath/ 17 inch newer tile/ 2.5 car garage/ Golf Course lot (view of the second hole green)/ 1/3 acre/ reduced below appraisal $147,900 in a planned community/ swimming pools, parks ect 43rd Ave/Bell

If you sell the house where you going to build the car???
More importantly where are you going to eat, shower and S##t while building the car.
Your wife will not be happy in a tent. I don't even know her, but I am just thinking I am on the right track with that one.
Good luck.

Man you can get that kind of house in Arizona for that little money? Amazing, I'll take TWO and rent one!
.....half serious! I've been thinking about retiring to Arizona.
Ernie

It's a very nice house. Jason I'll buy it but you gotta leave the Cobra there. (oh crap we already moved it )
I do feel for you though, it took us over 3 months to sell ours.
My brother sold his a couple weeks ago...took 1 friggin' day! The 3rd person that looked bought it for full asking price. By the weekend he'd bought a new place in Prescott Valley.
Ernie, naw it's not hot at all, who told you that?

I worked in Tuscon a couple of years ago. Nov. Dec and Jan. It was fabulous! Fell in love with Arizona! Kept hearing these nasty rumors about it getting really hot sometimes.
Guess they were pulling my leg huh?

Man, you were brave visiting Southern AZ in the dead of winter. It can get down to the 40s at night ya know! That could be hard on you temperate climate types.

Ernie, anything that you want to know / remember about Tucson please email me. We have 22 Cobras on the road and 8 being built. A side advantage is that my wife is in the real estate business. Buy the way, we have two houses for sale, but not quite as reasonable as Jason's. Cobra time is from Oct. thru May here in southern Arizona. Except of course for those die hards who drive in 112 degree temps in Phoenix !?!?!? Mine is more or less a daily driver ( please don't tell the insurance company). We'd love to have you "return" to Tucson. John

The sun is a BIG problem here, not the heat so much, but you can roast like a lobster pretty quick, even with a tan!
I keep the soft top up on mine quite a bit. Actually been thinking about a hard top in fact. Anybody running a hard top and A/C in their Cobras over there?

Ernie,
My wife and I will probably vacation in Oahu next winter -- have to get away from those 50-degree temps in Scottsdale, you know! I'm going to get my floatplane rating from a guy who runs a local seaplane operation there. Would love to see your cars if you'd like to show them off...
Cheers,
Steve

Comstock,,,sure drop me a line when your in the neighborhood. One car is here, the OTHER one is on the mainland (it's complicated, ha ha).
Now about that A/C hardtop question:
Anybody in AZ doing that with their Cobra and driving year 'round??? I'm haveing a hard time with the concept of a "season" to drive your Cobra, I drive mine ALL the time.
