Question What's it like to drive a Cobra?

This is a start:

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece?

...but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting,

"Whoa, doggie! What a Cobra ride!"

Anyone else got something to say about it?

All the best,

but to arrive at the gates having hit a perfect downshift from 3rd to 2nd and riding the rev. limiter, waking the almighty one and being refused entry (due to excessive noise)

<<Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece...>>

...but to cross over into that nether-world reeking of unburnt fuel, heated rubber and aldrenaline. Knuckles still white, lips and cheeks windburn and cherry red, the echos of rushing wind and internal combustion still ringing in your ears.

Yes I'm going kinda nuts waiting for parts.

Thumbs up These are priceless!

These are priceless, Gentlemen. Your "additions and clarifications" just go to show how passionate the Cobra-owning experience really is.

This past weekend, I was at Laguna Seca with two friends, Art and Tom, watching lots of Mustangs, a Brock Coupe, and a mixture of other race cars work through the 11 turns. Nearly everyone was smiling or laughing and generally having one great time in the sun and the wind on and around that beautiful track.

Tom remarked that he'd seen a study where the brains of test subjects were wired for their responses to various pictures. The no-so-surprising finding was that many men responded the highest to and about the same to both beautiful women and to various cars. There was something about chocolate in there too...

Anyway, I supose that the car pictured must have included Cobras.

So I hope that this thread will be contributed by more with that passion, like us! Then we'll be able to respond artistically to those asking us why we love our cars so much.

All the best,

Exclamation She's been salvaged and spread around

Thanks for asking, Hyde.

She was salvaged and her parts used to construct several other Cobras. The body was mangled; so not usable.

Still, she is in my blood!

There will be another, though, likely a Coupe.
All the best,

this is how I had heard it said:

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, shouting GERONIMO"

Talking Then there is the song: "Hey Little Cobra"

Hey, Little Cobra

Hey, Little Cobra, don't you know
you're gonna to shut 'em down...

I took my Cobra down to the track,
hitched to the back of my Cadillac,
Everyone was there just a waiting for me
There were plenty of Stingrays and XKEs,

(Chorus): Spring little Cobra getting ready to strike
Spring Little Cobra with all your might
Spring little Cobra getting ready to strike
Spring Little Cobra with all your might

Hey, Little Cobra, don't you know
you are going to shut them down
When the flag went down, you could hear rubber burn,
The Stingray pulled me going into the turn
I hung a big shift, and I got into high,
When I when I flew by the Stingray, I waved bye bye.

(Chorus)

Hey, Little Cobra, Don't you know
you are going to shut 'em down
Around the turn into the straight away
I was blowing off everything that got in my way,
Stingrays and Jags were so far behind
I took my Cobra out of gear and let it coast to the line.

(Chorus)

Hey, Little Cobra, Don't you know
you are going to shut 'em down
Shut'em down, shut'em down, shut'em down...

"Hey, Little Cobra" was written by Carol Conner in 1964.

These comments are very timely. I just found out that my Brother in Law has a rare aggressive form of Cancer. Guy is 39 Year old, a 12 year old, a 2 Year Old, and an 9 Month Baby. Doctors tell him to work hard and pray for a miracle.

We all need to enjoy life. Drive, Wax, or just sit in your car if that is what brings you joy!

It's like being able to run as fast as you want to. (and a little faster if you REALLY want to) It's like everyone wants to ride with you or wave at you or smile and give a thumbs-up. It's knowing that a lot of the guys looking at you wistfully didn't do it for whatever reason, but you did. It's knowing that the kid who pulls up next to you at the stop light and punches the throttle wouldn't stand a chance. It's like having a good friend who loves going out with you and having a good time. Live abundantly, friends. Enjoy these remarkable toys responsibly and life's a blast.

Unhappy Praying for a miracle

HI Q

Re: "Doctors tell him to work hard and pray for a miracle."

Although this is not the type of timeliness that I'd envisioned, my prayers go out to your brother in law and his young family. He's way too young to go and his wife and kids are way too young to lose him.

All the best,

I would say it's like USA military diplomacy in away.
You have all the power to really kick a$$ when you want to,
