Default Cooling Expansion Tank

Hi everyone i was wondering what everyone uses for an expansion tank for cooling. i have a afco racing radiator, with a csi inline filler, and i have an relief line on this fitting. so i will tie in to this fitting? Now on the expansion tank, will this have to be mounted higher than the radiator cap so it will drain back to the radiator or if it is lower will it return to the cooling system? my engine is a 351w so if anyone has any info in this please let me know. thanks Neil

Default Tank

I mounted an aluminum tank just behind the radiator.

This old photo shows the tank just in front of the alternator.

it works well and is very stable. It was going to be too much work to try to get it above the filler on the rad. so I allowed it to be a little below.

Looking for a spot to mount it seems to be more of a problem than anything else.

Hope this helps ( Hope the image show up)

Default Surge Tank

Neil,

I incorporated a surge tank, which differs from an expansion tank.

With the Windsor you'll need to be a little more creative in mounting it than I had to be.
