Fun ride this am. 4 cars. LarryD. Stuart, me, and Chris. 7:30-10:30 including breakfast. Including waiting 20 min for Chris to catch up. You need a new trans, Chris.

Yup. I had a good time puttin up the hill to Payson. Did you guys really wait 20 minutes? Wow, what buddies, what pals...
I am looking for a new Transmission this afternoon. It probably won't make that much difference though cause I'm not going 90 miles an hour no matter how many forward gears Ruby gets. You guys are missin a few screws or the ones you got a too darn tight.
Had a good time though..want to do it again soon.
Regards

Sounds like a great time - sorry i couldn't make it - I was hoping to make it but just couldn't get out of bed in time to meet at 7am -
Don't worry about them waiting for you - everytime i have gone with them, they have waited for me - i just can't force myself to pedal that fast - BTW i do think they are a bit off center - but i mean that in a kind and respectful way --

Have no car! Gordon sold it for me for a nice price. I am going to have him build me another one. First choice is candy apple red with black stripe and either a 514 Ford Crate Motor or Gordon's 408 Stoker. What should I do? Starting all over but now I know what I would have done differently. Still going to try and put air and hard top. Who had the hard top and how much was it? Who had the new Dark Gray car with tan interior and slanted dash. I like that set up. See you in the fall with new car ..........I hope; then again I could die and wife would have to drive the car.

Fitz,
Congrats on getting the car sold.
It it were me I'de go for the 514CI. You get the HP you want. However the 408 that Gordon builds is awesume. I keep telling myself I need that motor.
The 514 may be more livable on the street.
600 HP....
Are you putting in an Automatic so Jo can drive???

No but if I get this thing set up right I won't have to put the seat on the floor so I don't feel like I am looking over the windshield. I am going to try and have Gordon move the back of the cockpit back a few inches so we can adjust the seat....I like the 514 too.

Go small
If I was going to do it again I would go small block, the car drives so much nicer on the track (unless you have the cash for the aluminum big block). The car will push on the track and it takes a while to get that dialed in. However, it is nice to have the power without over building, and then there is that cooling thing....... At least I have a hard time keeping mine cool? Well that is why we build them the way we like them. Just remember to beef up the trans, clutch, and rear end to handle the power.....
Have fun and get what you want!
Brian
