No Trailer Queen
This is what a Cobra looks like after being in a Arizona monsoon for one hour. On the last day that we were moving we got caught with the green machine in the storm while moving to the new digs. What a mess, I had to drive slow to keep the water from comming over the nose so people would pass and spray me with water and mud, boy was I pi ed! I am still scrubbing the carpets!
Have fun, Stay dry.......................

Been there...
Isn't driving in the rain fun? Now let's talk about snow and black ice. Or how about an ash fall from a forest fire.
Rain/mud makes for a wonderful cleaning experience.
See ya soon

Did you at least have the top on?
Isn't it fun living in Queen-tucky?

TOP?
Yes I had my top on! is that what they are calling baseball caps now No, the water was so deep (at the sign that said do not enter when flooded) that it would come over the windshield it was like a sheet falling into my lap. at one point it was up to the bottom of the door. I let the car sit for two weeks and the carpet was still wet. Bad thing is that If I had a top it would have taken away from the adventure!

Drill a small hole in your foot boxes in a low spot so the moisture has a way out. If you don't want to leave the hole open all the time you can order some rubber stoppers for them. Look in the catalog's from Year One or something that sells muscle car parts and order some glove box rubber bumpers. They are small and only require about a 1/8 or 3/16 hole.

Brian,
When that happens to me, I put a fan the cockpit for a couple of days, directed down at the carpet. If it's really wet I use two fans. Otherwise the carpet will start to rot and smell bad.
But then, it never rains in So. Cal., right!

Brian, welcome to the club !!!!!!!!!!!! I'd guess that I've got about 2,000 miles of driving in the rain. I've been wet in nine states over a two year period. Don't worry about the carpet. The gas and brake and steering wheel are all that you need. I wasn't as careful sealing up my footboxes and have never had any water in them.. I'd suggest that you consider using the old time rear quarter panel water drains. Remember the ones that were in the bottom of the 1/4 panel in the trunk. There was a small drain hole in the bottom of the 1/4 panel and on the outside there was a small rubber piece that covered the hole from the front but allowed it to drain to the rear. I hope to see you in Laughlin. John

Hi Brian,
Yes I have been caught also. Found myself beside the road using a sponge to get the water out of the footwells.
Just luck I have aluminium floors. Have just made a note of putting some rubber plugs in.
Park on the side of the road and let the water run forward and out the plug??
I have travelled over 10,000m ( 16,000k) since last November and have just painted my Cobra after driving around in Gel coat.
My painter made the comment the other day I will probaly now become a "sunshine pilot"
I will until the 'new' novelty wears off.
Don't envy you cleaning the Cobra there.
Bernie

Holes....
Yes I do have 4 @ 1/2 holes in the foot boxes, I put nice extra thick padding in my carpet and it acted like a filter, so at least I was filtering the mud for mother earth as it drained out the bottom The water was comming in so fast that the holes were overcome and the foot boxes started to fill. This was the second time that I was caught in "bad" rain and had to pull off the road becaude it was just impossable to drive the car. Snow, ice, freezing cold has not stopped my wife and I from enjoying the car. HOWEVER, those A@!H#L%S that were passing me and spraying me with water were total jerks.
Keep it above 100..........
Brian
