Club Sandwich Late caravan
OK. Everything is set except for those leaving late.
If you cannot make the first caravan in the morning post here. This way those leaving late can hook up and go together.

Brian,
I know you are leaving late. Lyle is unable to leave before 4:30- 5p. There are a couple of others in the same boat. John and Scott from Tucson will be leaving late. Any recommendations.

Mikiec, From Tucson it looks like it will be Scott Collins ( have you ever met Scott ? He's a really nice guy )., Mike Mahaffe , Mike Treece, Dave Johnson and myself. If we left Tucson about 3:30 pm it will take two hours to get to I-10 and I-17. What is the driving time to Laughlin from the Phoenix area ? What will the traffic on Friday be like at that hour, 5:30 ish ? Should we even try to get thru Phoenix or just drive west on I-10 to Quartsite and then north ? By the way, what time is sunset ? I really don't look forward to three hours of night driving. Keep us posted and we will try our best to join up with the late group. John

John,
You are asking me for directions.... Wow, you must be over getting lost from the last ones.
From the Phoenix area it is about 4 hours give or take. Friday night Traffic will be nasty. If you do go through Phoenix you need to get off at the carefree highway and head west towards Wickenburg. Follow the signs from Wickenburg to Kingman and on to Laughlin. If you go to Flagstaff you add about 2 hours to your trip.
I think the I-10 through Quartsite takes a little longer but not sure.
I'll email you my Cell phone number just in case.

Mike,
ChuckMynatt and I, with our wives, will be driving down from Vegas and meeting up with you all on Saturday morning. I guess you could call us the late late late caravan. See you all then.

Need4Speed,
Weren't you going to trailer the Lister to Laughlin and push it around the parking lot?

Now why would I want to push my trailer around the parking lot?

Oh sorry. I thought you were going to trailer your truck and pull it with the Lister. Don't want to put too many miles on the truck you know! And besides, your engine IS in backwards!
Is that what you've been doing all weekend. Fitting a class V hitch to the Lister? Or did you go the 5th wheel route?
Chuck

5th wheel works great on the new rollbar. Also keeps my weight distribution centered in the car that way. I also plan to tow the trailer in reverse since my engine is in backwards. ;-)

Brian & Mikec, Has any decision been made for the late guys ? Where will you be joining up ? AND, what time ? It looks like we may have two driving up and two doing the trailer thing. Once again, due to the Friday afternoon traffic is there a suggested route thru or around Phoenix ? John

John,
Looks like you guys are on your own. I have not had any response for a second meeting place and time.
Best bet would be continue up I-17 to carefree highway. Go past Lake Pleasant and continue west and follow signs to Wickenburg. Once in Wickenburg follow signs to Kingman and on to Laughlin. The Laughlin turn off is just past the town of Kingman.
I'll email you my cell phone number.

Early.........................
Sorry to say but Barb and I are hooking up with Jerry for the early flight out of town, see you at 9:00am in Wickenburg. I thought it would be best to break down while the stores are still open and I can buy another $150.00 timing light.
I have also received conformation on the gas shipments, and transfer times so we should be good on gas Will be changing my jets in the carb tomorrow to 78 / 88 for best gas mileage on the freeway (7mpg) and adding another coat of wax to reduce friction across the hood. I might even consider drafting if anyone is game
John If you see me along the way stop and say hi, I will have a cold one for ya!
Keep it moving............................
Brian
