Cobras and Corvettes-Tucson, 11-20-04

One of the Corvette clubs in Tucson has invited us to participate with them at their autocross / road course on Sat. & Sun. , 11-20 & 21. The track is on Pinal Airpark grounds, exit 232 on I-10, and is an old unused 1.3 mile track that law enforcement had used for driver training. Over the last year it has been rented out to the Corvette and Porche clubs as well as the SCCA. We can get basic instruction from their instructors for $15.00, that includes three trips on the course. That begins at 8:00 am. At 10:00 am the track will open for us to use. For $20.00 we'll get three or fours runs, the last one or two runs will be in the oppsite direction. On Sunday the price is the same, $20.00, and we'll get to use the track in the morning only because the Corvettes will be racing amongst themselves for their own points system. The required equipment is a Snell approved automobile helmet ( not motorcycle ) and closed shoes. It looks like four of us from Tucson will be able to make this event and we'd like to invite all of you to come on down and have some fun with us and the Corvettes.
