OK All,
I admit to getting older but refuse to grow up! That being said I have decided to build a heater as I have frozen my *** for the last time.
I have everything to build a very compact heater and a 3 speed fan set-up. I plan to draw intake air from the floorboard area inside car so no fumes are picked up. I do not want visable vents so will hide behind dash.
Who has a heater to recommend how many outlets and where should I aim them? Is it important to be able to turn off passenger ducts? Any other considerations I have missed, please give me your thoughts and experiences so I can learn from your set-ups? Where did you mount ? THANKS ALL

My ERA heater is mounted up under the center of the dash and is has no visible vents other than the defroster vents on top of the dash. The interior vents are 3 spring loaded doors, one each for driver side, pax side and center. Open whichever one you want.
Check the ERA site for the box they use which is only about 9" square but it puts out enough heat to keep the cockpit warm with top and side curtains. Warm enough to operate at less than 40 degrees. In neighborhood traffic I have to turn the blower off to keep the heat down.
Without the top and side curtains I don't think there is a heater made that will keep up.

Seriously though - a lot of guys here use electric seat heaters, electric vests and electric gloves. Saves all the plumbing hassles. you just need to ad a circuit to run the electrics from. Make sure you turn everything off or have it on the master switch or your battery will bid you sayanora!

Thanks for input and I have spent a great deal of time in the twin cities are. I worked for 3M for a few years and Corp. home is in St Paul. Seemed like they invited me out just to watch me freeze my A$$ for laughs. So I know you understand COLD!!
I am in Phx area, although heater requires plumbing may be my better route and helps passenger as well at half the cost of double electronics.
