Western States Cobra Bash will be held...
May, 20, 21 and 22 of this year. We are still looking for a location in Reno, Nevada to hold the event. Some of you have heard about the event and are planning to go. I'm sure most of you have kept up with the thread here on Club Cobra. We want to book as many rooms as we can early so we can possibly get another block of rooms. It seems as thought the innaugural event shall bring over 100 Cobras. Rumor has it that there may be some Daytonas and GT 40's also. This will be a fun event for all. We would like a good showing from Arizona Cobras.

Bill
Still too far for a weekend... 2000 miles in the Cobra? Right.
Too bad, I would have gone if it had been closer......

Mike,
Gee, that's more than I can say that I do with the club. However, this year will be different for us. We will attend more Arizona Cobras events. Promise!

Bill,
If you need to put some miles on the car let me know.
Mark, When we first met Mulv he said he doesn't do more than 25 miles in the cobra. We have him up to 200 plus for a run. We just need to work on him more.
Steve, take Bill up on his offer.
Mike

Have to say; I'm with Steve on this one.
I typically trailer to events more than 25 miles or so, but even trailering to Reno for only a weekend seems to make no sense.
I always fly if I go to Reno since the mileage is enormous. 800 miles is minimum and thats 16 hours there and 16 back. In my book thats 4 days driving total. Can't imagine the argument that could be made to drive 4 days for two or three days at an event?
Just my $.02. Guess I'm not really the social type...

ItBites, I agree that this event is more than a couple of miles from home and it may take some time to get there. We can go at our own pace. BUT, this is the inaugural event for something that has the potential of being the West Coast's premier event of the year, at least for Cobra owners. If we plan this right and all of us from our region leave together, we can toss all of our baggage in my trailer so you don't have to carry it in your car. I'll just have to meet up with you from time to time. Sounds like we need an Arizona Western States Cobra Bash meeting. MULV, you need to plan on this trip and experience it rather than hear about it. If you don't like it, then you don't have to go back next year. Apparently, your old buddies want to see you again.

You people are crazy..... no way.... the problem is that after hauling my decrepit carcass 900 miles, I am still in Reno - affectionately known as "The Armpit of the West" by those in the know...
Mark - it is 182 miles closer for me to drive to the Athens... really...
You missed Christmas lunch at the nunnery with the guys - I was there - sorry you weren't...

I just came across this.
It always sounds good until you drive in one of these cars for about 1-2 hours. As you try to get out and burn the fat off your left side because you fell down on the side of the car. This is because you can not get out or stand up because your lower half is asleep.
The last time I did a long trip (what long trip?), I fell down and the car ran over me and burned my ass. I had to go to the spa for 3 days just to walk again. You guys are nuts. It sounds like a neat trip but long long trip...and what if it rains during the drip...add a few more hours.
Of course I will have to take out a loan just to keep gas in the toy.
Do any people actually live in Reno. Isn't there a Fitzgerald's casino there? I think I was conceived there.

Fitz,
Longest trip I have made in mine was just over 150 miles with stops at every rest place. Also some stops in between. But I even do that in my Comet as I just hate to drive for long periods without getting out and stretching.
As for falling down and burning your left side. Isn't that backwards as the left side should be out first? Get a piece of insulation that won't melt and place it over the exhaust pipe before exiting the car. I know a person that did that for his wife as she kept getting burned. It just rolls up and lays beside the seat and then when she opens the door she unrolls it and it goes right out over the pipe. I don't remember what he used, but it doesn't even stick to the pipe. Must work well as his wife now enjoys riding in the car.

OH, I forgot. There is a hot tub but you have to go up to the fly bridge and take the elevator down to P2 from the trunk.

Mikiec, Count me in for driving. I am planing to drive to Las Vegas or a little further the first night. The next day I am going to drive down into Death Valley and rejoin Hiway 95 at Scotty's Junction then on to Reno. What do you think ? John
