Fitz
Which DMV are you going to? Let us know how easy/hard it turned out to be.

Dave,

Dealing with DMV here is pretty easy. Nothing like Cal or Mass or others. Just follow thier rules.

BTW.. Whats your time frame for the car?

Mike

Mike
It was supposed to be done late Feb early Mar. Guess that's not going to happen. Gordon said when Fitz's car was done he was going to get on mine. Hope that happens.

Dave,

When you get your car done go to the MVD just off of Greenfield, south of the US60 and north of Baseline. A lot of us in the east valley have been through there with no problems whatsoever. Essentially they check serial numbers, document some stuff and that's about it.

I have been worrying about this for 6 months. It started out a bit slow; clerk staring at my inspection (which was a piece of cake at the inspection place by the air port; (Gordon drove the car and I was the passender). We went back to Gordons and I went on to the MVD.

They look confused but I took out my last car registration which showed what it was and the cost of $23.50. They looked it up from the last time and it was no problem. I kept my old plates and I would have gotten out of there in1/2 hour but I was short cash. Only cash or check; no credit cards. Of course I was nice to the lady and guy, who was a car nut!

Gordon is keeping the car for a few days to sort a few minor details out. Should pick up Tuesday/Maybe Monday. Damn car is loud! I may have to go to a muffler as I know I will not be able to hear the stereo.....not! Sounds like a frecking Dragster.

Dave - I opted to not use my CC name for the plate since I wanted it to hopefully answer the "what is it?" question that I always get on my Lister. Now if they ask I just point to the plate.

Fitz - congrats, I am sure it has been worth the wait. To address your stereo concerns, you could always reroute the pipes to some fake speaker covers, that should be enough music for anyone...
