Default Speedworld Drags anyone?

This 27 January 2007, 7:00PM will be a race what you got night at Speedworld Dragstrip. I'm going to go out if anyone would like to take turns operating my video camera. I need someone to take video passes of me and I'll return the favor for their passes. If we could find three or more of us to go we could have Cobras in both lanes for some cool footage.

Post here or call me if you would like to go.

480-661-0111

Thanks,
Greg

By Dec 28, I should have the Cobra back on the road, so I'd go... and not even have to take the ole Vette. It'll probably take me from now til then to get the Cobra up and going. I'm building sidepipes and headers now, hope to get the 540 built and in soon after. I'm thinking about going 572 or 588instead of 540 though, so plans may change...

Did you really mean Dec 28?

Greg, I know you ran that 10.91 before at Speedworld but, that was during a club-rented track event. You may be facing NHRA restrictions at a public event. I hope you are allowed to run under 13.99, which is the quickest time allowed for a topless car without the required safety additions. Including: Taller roll-bar, 5 point base-mounted safety straps, external battery cut-off, scatter shield, fire suit, arm restraints, etc.
AZCobras on morning run that day. I will be at Kruse auction.

Good Luck
AZ Bob

I hope they don't give me a problem. Firebird gives me tech for 10.0 after I display fire jacket, arm restraints, submarine belt, drive shaft loop, scatter shield, battery in stock location, and duck down a couple inches below the little Superformance roll bar. The roll bar is questionable, so I hope Speedworld passes it.

Greg,

Firebird has passed you recently? More than once? I've never tried, but with the hassle they give me over the 12.5 sec Vette hardtop, I thought the Cobra would be impossible...

I guess I'll have to try with the Cobra at Firebird, since I have all the equip you listed (sans the scattershield since I have an auto trans). Cool.

Hope things are well for you; catch ya later.

This past summer I went twice and I got tech for 10.0 both times, same guy. The Firebird track was not good both times that I went. I might have not even gone it was so slippery. I was lighting up third gear on drag radials.
