Anyone have a cobra or roadster seat I can borrow?
I'm going to replace my old seats with some new ones but first I want to trail fit one to see how much fitment will be involved. I know there are a bunch of
different types of seats but any type I can borrow for a short while will help.
I promise to take care of it until I'm through with it.

You can use mine from my Hurricane but you'd have to come to Tucson to get them. Not sure if it's worth the trip or not.
Keep them in mind if you don't have any other offers.

Larry,
Thank you for your kind offer. I'm in hopes that there will be one of the guys here in the area that can help.
If not then I guess I'll keep searching the net til' I find some I like with close measurements and buy them.

Bernie....
It's about time he started working that car... You should have seen it at the anniversary party.. Sad, lonely, dirty and it was lame. Leftfront was in need of re-shoeing.
Hersh... Do you have the decals done? Are you going to join me on the 16th?

Todd,
Yes things are getting back to normal and I'm keeping up with the yard work so I can work on the Cobra.
Yes, I agree Mikiec. The old girl did look a mess at the party but I'm going to try and get her back to lookin' good. I started out by pulling the seats. The plans was to find another set that would fit then get the carpet and door panels redone. I started out by going over to Anglo-American racing. They have all kinds of stuff and plenty of racing seats that look great. Martin, the owner, is a great guy and he is really knowledgeable about racing stuff. Any he lets me borrow two different seats to see if they would fit the Cobra. I took them home and they sat in the Cobra real nice. The problem was that I couldn't get them back far enough for me to get in. Mainly because of the wings on the sides of the seats. Well, after several different approaches I decided this ain't gonna work. So I took the seats back to Martin with a huge batch of homemade cookies to thank him for allowing me to borrow two really nice seats.
Then I read Jeff's post and gave him a call. After we talked I went over to his shop. He showed me his seats that he uses from a 87 Honda. Being that my seats that I had were from an 85 Mitsubishi, I was more than willing to see what Jeff was doing. He showed me how he modified them and had them re-upholstered. I thanked Jeff and went off to the junkyard to find a pair of those Honda seats. I stopped at a u-pick a part yard on Broadway. I sure enough found a pair and I also found another set that looked close enough to fit from a 96 Grand Am. I bought both sets. Getting them out of the car was no big deal but carrying them to the truck was. Man!, they get heavy fast. I made two trips.
When I got home I tried the Honda seats first then the Grand Am seats.. niether fit well enough to work. so no I've decided to alter the Grand Am seats because they seem to be a little bit better than the Hondas.
That's where I am now. I have one of the seats apart to see what can be done to make it work.
Mikie, I will go with you guys on the 16th if I get my new wheels for the GT in time to get the tires mounted and back on. They are supposed to arrive next week. If they do get here and there are no problems I will be glad to go.
Thanks again to all for your help.
Hersh
