Knotts
Just got back from Knotts, 1300 miles including the Friday ride, feeling a little bit windblown about now. Show was great, met a lot of great people. A lot of great cars, mostly FFR's, from pretty basic to absolute show stoppers. DaveS won best of show/coupe and a scooter at the Factory Five get together at Huntington Beach. pretty awesome with 100 Cobras revving their engines for a tribute to Dick Smith. I saw a couple of Arizona cars I did not know, orange with white stripes and black with skull and swords on the hood, let me know who you are, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you in person.

Paul Gillespie from AZ was there with the Red-Orange w white stripes roadster.
Nice to meet you Ironman. Great run on Friday.
Had the new rims on Old 3850:
People got a kick out of it.
FFR awards "Best Use of Chrome" so maybe we passed muster.

WOW! Dave, what a great paint job! This photo shows why you didn't cover up the shine with emblems.

It was a great show, I was there with 3 cars in the Cobras n Vettes space. First car was Kev's and he was only able to get 98 percent finished before the clock to leave struck time.. Vic had his blue with white stripes car and he took a 2nd place trophy home in the 30K class. I had my red car on display under a vendor or blue card.
I came by your spot a couple of times looking for the AZ boys but never found anybody home at that moment. I did see Paul and David but missed
Larry and Ironman. Hope to see you all soon now that I have a car I can run on pump gas and not trailer everwhere.
Monday we went to the old El Torro Marine base for some manufacturer comparison testing done by Kit Car magazine. Articles to come out soon). Steve Mulvey was kind enough to drive down to Ervine and be our driver. Thanks Steve you made us look good.

Great job Jeff. Your cars always look good. I'm crazy about that turbo-charged, NOS-fed SBC stroker! Lots of HP! I wish it was louder. Steve M was your driver? Was anyone chasing him? Did he hit anything? I can't wait to see the results.

Hey Bob,
I fixed the loud problem and you can hear it for sure now!!!! I did do testing with the red car but removed the juice and had the turbo turned off = (blocked the waste gate open ) on the crate 350 so it would be an even power band and not come on in middle of a turn kinda thing. I did put a cam in the crate engine but this one is not a stroker it is the other blue car that has a 377 in it. The testing was a Salomon course at 70 foot cones and a G pad with 0-60 then 60 to 0 testing.
Steve was the driver and did a great job... did not hit much at all. He did or the exhaust did wiggle a few cones but they settled right back down in the painted circle just fine. I can't wait myself to see the numbers as they were not really publishing everybody's times just yours for each event. Steve took me for a ride in my own car and amassed me how well it responded to his touch, not to bad for a ca-nook.

Hey Jeff,
Sounds like things went well. A lot of people don't know it but that Canook can drive!. Steve doesn't say much about his pro driving days but he was and is one of the best. Anytime you get a chance to ride with him you will see what I mean. Pure skill..I love it! Wish I could do that.

Back at ya Hersh,
I did get to ride with Steve and he did things with my car that amazed me. VERY SMOOTH !! As an old straight line jockey I was always of the mind set that turns ruin LOTS of parts, and in a flopper or altered turns hurt.
My daughter was watching Steve drive and said that is cool and he is pretty good too! He has now got me in trouble with my daughter because she wants to to do that. "DAD can I go drive the car like that". I was very lucky to have Steve's help and he is very good.

Jeff
Good to see you had a good time and was acknowledged there for your cars.
The Knotts event is one that I may try and get to next year....
Last year it was a choice between the 'Not Knotts' at Santa Barbara and Knotts, so I headed to Santa Barbara which was a fantastic show. Now that the two events are a week apart, I may try and do both next year.
May catch up soon
Bernie
