David, I have been to that car show several times. I every case I was the only Cobra. Also in every show, the participants do the voting of the top 10 cars. Also in all 3 visits there, all of the winners knew each other and sat at the same table. Suggesting there is no hope of winning. You must get there early to park near the front. I would arrive Fri night and have stayed at the Econolodge (close to the front.) There are street "shootouts" re-enactments of old west stuff Friday night. Once parked on the main street you can stroll the old shops and answer a lot of questions from out of country visitors there for the Grand Canyon.
Nice t-shirt and the hamburgers at Twisters are good, just a long wait. It's a nice show, just don't expect a trophy.

Nothing like the "Good Old Boy" judging. Marilyn & I will be there as we spend our summers in the Williams area. We have a sparre bedroom, if anybody wants to sleep free.

Hi Bill and Marilyn, Hope all is well up in Pauldon. That's mighty nice of you to offer your luxury suite to someone. Aug 17 and 18th is my weekend to work (remember work?) or I would consider the visit and show. Williams is a nice town. That HOT drive up and back in August is a killer.
Dave, good luck. You'll find lots of people to talk to up there. Expecially with that sharp Daytona Coupe.

I talked to the new owner of the restaurant that's sponsoring the event Bob about the over thehill gang and how they take the trophies every year...he didn't seem to have an answer for it..I intend on calling him again to see what the story is....Chances are that I won't go....You're right about the event though. When others aren't given a chance then it's not worth going...THe show will be the one to suffer...Dave

I just got off the phone with the sponsor and owner of Twister's in Williams..He told me that he is well aware of the stacking of votes for cars..So this year they are having independent judges walk around unnoticed to the public and will judge the cars in there way....I, for one, will do the show this year...Would anyone like to join me in August?? Thanks for that research Dave. I think you should go. Your ride is certainly unusual and deserves to win a trophy. You will enjoy the public there.
Sorry to hear about your knee. That surgury is or can be painful and can take some time to heal. There goes your NFL career.
I would go myself but work calls. I also would take up Bill and Marilyn's offer to stay with them. They are really nice people. and Bill has a great sarcastic dry wit. Say, I wonder if Marlyn even knows he invited guests?

Knee scope!
Forget about walking for awhile. Say two months.
It's hot so who cares.
When I had my knee "area" done it hurt like hell for 1 week.
Then no help from wood sticks;
then walked good until I used the clutch in the car.
Holy Crap! Just carry a lot of extra drugs..........

Well, I'm going next fiday and they are going to take a picture of the knee on Friday so if it's a go they'll schedule me within a week..I should be better by August wouldn't you think??? Ihad my shoulder done last year by the same Doctor, David Bailey at Toca They work on the Sun's, Coyote's , Cardinals etc...I had hardly any pain in the shoulder but it took time rehabing..For Rehab I go to FROG...Great rehab center.... Four knee operations and one more to go. Both knees twice. Same pain your having now in left knee, must be catching. Plan to have x-ray next week and maybe #5. Dates of first 4: 1972 - 1980 - 1990 - 1996. Six weeks from knife to full workout. Not alot of pain, out patient surgery. In at 7am out at 1pm. Drove home.

That is because of all of your subsequent head injuries..
The first time I had knee surgery, I spent 11 months in physio to learn how to walk again... as technology improved the next 5 surgeries each had a shorter recoup time.. but it still hurt like hell to drive a car without automatic shift.. Percodan is your friend...
Geez Dave , Cardinals , Coyotes , Frog, do you get a better deal using a vetrinarian than a human doctor

Are we talking about the high knee or the low knee?
