Airless tires have been around for a while and they are still being tested. Probably will not see them for sale for at least 5 years.

Of course, they would fit right in a ricer wheel well as long as there were neon lights behind the tires. Maybe add a baseball card so it hits the flaps and makes that cool noise we always remember from our bike in elementary school.

I read an article on these several years ago in a magazine. I was ondering is they were ever going to make it to the market.

I wonder how they handle the torque?

I seem to remember a story from years ago about Chuck Greene and the first full blown 427 Competition car and some understrength wire wheels. Seems the first time they really jumped on it, the wire spokes came unbuttoned. I have a funny feeling that these would do something similar.

The major manufacturers will never go for it if they can't advertise. I would anticipate some form of LED array imbedded within so that a message appears when they are rolling. They have custom wheels like this now, so making the tire perform the same thing can't be too far a stretch.
