Memories on Main St.--- PLEASE READ!

OK.. Here's the plan.. Those of you who can get to Mesa around 4:30, let's meet in the parking lot at Mervyn's on the north east corner of Stapely and Main St. We'll hang there for a while then 'cruise' on up to where we need to be. I'm going to pick up the tags on Friday morning. I'll pass them out at Mervyns or if you come later, just tell the guard that you are with AZ Cobras and he'll tell you where to go. (Did that sound right?) I'll have 25 tags and I guess that's it. They are expecting between 600 and 1000 cars for this event so it should be something spectacular.

I'm looking forward to a great evening.

Spoooky 11-06-2007 03:41 PM

Sounds great I'll be there at 4:30. Should be a good time.

Karl Bebout 11-06-2007 05:51 PM

Thanks Dan, I'll be there if my control arm bolts get here in time. Couldn't believe that Copper State, nor the four other places I tried didn't have a 9/16"x12", of any grade. I spoke with the vendor I bought the control arms from and was told the only car they'd ever had break one of their bolts was a huge old Buick with a monster motor. They are shipping out a couple bolts today so I will hopefully be good to go. I must have just been lucky enough to have gotten a bad bolt. So glad it broke in the pits rather than on the track. BTW, the vendor is Southern Rods and Parts. With the exception of the bolt problem, their control arms are real nice, their prices very good, and their customer service has been excellent.

Good Luck Karl. I hope you get the bolt in time to run with us on Friday.. and thanks for the tip on Southern Rods.

Stapely and Main St.
Where is Stapely in relationship to what coming from Northside?

Off 60 to Mesa Exit?
Off 10 to Mesa Exit?
Downtown? Northside of town; Southside of town?
Haven't been over there in long time.
Will come early if I know where to go?
I guess I could look up Mervyn's if it is on Stapely?

Spoooky 11-06-2007 08:41 PM

Fitz,

I live in the North Phx area. Take 101 to the 202 East, exit Stapely South (couple miles) and Mervyns is on your left. You could take the 51 to the 202 East and skirt along the North side of Tempe too. Carpool lane this way!!!

davids 11-06-2007 08:42 PM

Take 101 South To 202 Go East On 202 To Stapley Road .go South On Stapley To Main..hehehehehehhe...easy....

dave from mesa 11-06-2007 08:48 PM

If this posts, this is the cruise route that we will be able to follow. Follow this link and it will come up. Not sure where we will be parked, but you can see that there is about 3.5 miles of city street that will be blocked off just for this event.

dave from mesa 11-07-2007 06:10 AM

Anyone know why there has been NO advertising for this show? Haven't seen anything in the paper and went by Main & CC yesterday no banners or anything that looks like something is going on.
1000 cars? Does Pav get 1000 cars? Not very likely Mesa will.
See ya guys fri at Stapley and Main.

greg schroeder 11-07-2007 06:54 AM

What day? :)

dave from mesa 11-07-2007 07:00 AM

Greg
This Fri. 11-9

Mike Brasfield 11-07-2007 07:16 AM

Dan...see you at 4:30 at Mervyns. Way over in Mesa. Although, I have to agree with Dave from Mesa. With little advertising I can't see 600 cars unless they put it in the "car" section of the thrusday AZ Republic. That section normally list the car activities in the area if they know about it. Maybe the City of Mesa has access to many of the club websites.

It does sound like fun though.

Danr55 11-07-2007 08:57 AM

Guys, I'm just passing along the info I'm being given. It is probable from what I've been able to understand talking with guys here at work, that every car club in the valley has been told about this. I know that there will be two Corvette clubs and a Camaro club represented. So, we'll see.

dave from mesa 11-07-2007 11:15 AM

Not really important!
WE will be there.
They don't need no stinkin other car clubs.

sidewinder770 11-07-2007 12:39 PM

Just a side note- there is no Stapley Exit off the 202- you will have to get off on McKellips and take that down to stapley or use the Gilbert Rd exit and double back to Stapley using Mckellips. We'll try to be there by 4:30 :)

dave from mesa 11-07-2007 01:16 PM

My bad. Thought there was one.

Fitz 11-07-2007 04:10 PM

WTF!
Friday afternoon this is going to be fun? Bumper to bumper traffic going east...Getting fired up!
