Mike I am sure you can find some help to put that cable in! Besides we need a picture of you in your foot box, you know like the one with you in your trunk

It doesn't look like my car will be out of the shop in time for the show. I don't want the test drive to be a trip down the rim. I also need to get the front end aligned before I take off for any distance. I am still coming to the valley and will be at the show Friday night. See ya there.

Sean,
Your car may never get out of the shop. I fear it is alergic to your garage.

Well, I now have a new clutch cable installed. That's the good news. Bad news .. seeme like when the cable stretched out it was between a 1st to 2nd shift and messed up the synchros. Shifting is fine 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 5th. I can go from 1st to second under 5 mph. Otherwise lots of grinding. Thanks to Paul and Don for their assistance.
I'll be pulling the tranny after the anniversary party for a re-build.
I also, have a new access point in the upper footbox.

Well shi'ite Mike, that sucketh big-time!
I was out yesterday and noticed a bit of pull under hard braking, then later discovered a small pool of brake fluid under the right front tire and mist on the wheel well.
I'm about to go take a look and see what's up. Maybe I'll go ahead and put on the new rack while I'm at it.

Damn Mike.. THat's no good.. but then we all know that you like to be gentle with your car anyway.. Soft shfting, easy on the gas peddle.. then you wake up and reality slaps you full in the face.. Too bad about the tranny. At least it will get you to the Christmas party... We'll see you there..

The fun part is I have not done a tranny in over 40 years. Then, it was an old 3 speed with those very tiny needle bearings in the input shaft.
Have I told you I hate tiny needle roller brearings...

Mikie, Great time to practice your double clutching in case you ever have to drive an old Leyland product.

I didn't even know they had 'trannys' 40 years ago Mikie but you sure are open minded!
I have the new rack in but the wrong double U-joint shaft. It's way too long and must be for a MK-III or something. Perfect
