Wow! this is a good one.
If something goes wrong with the clutch assembly, I mean the master cylinder hydraulics, or the pedal (cable), you can always get going if you can crank it in gear and still shift.

This method has always worked well for big rig truckers and hot rodders when problems occur, so as I always say "Keep it simple stupid" and your better off.
