Any Car Shows March 15 - 16?
I will be in the Phoenix / Tuscon area over the March 15/16 weekend and was hoping to catch a car show or Cobra event while visiting your city.
No, I won't have my Cobra, still snow-bound in the Windy City area!

car shows mar, 15
The people whom own the RACEWAY BAR & GRILL in Maricopa are holding their monthly show on Mar. 15 in the parking lot. It does not sound like much but we do have a good time. They do serve up a great breakfast, & you might be suprised how many cars & owners participate. If you want more info just ask

Maricopa is a small town south of the airport @ 30 miles. Check with your friend to see if he knows where Harras Casino is located. This bar is located @ 2 miles south of casino (1st right turn after casino ) on Papago rd. go west on Papago rd @ 3 miles, and when you are convinced you are lost forever, on the left side of th road you will se a newly built strip mall, (very small strip mall ), and on the south end of building is this bar. You can't miss it because there is nothing else there, and you should be able to see quite a few cars from the road. It might be nice to travel out of the city and come see us.
P.S. I promise you won't see anyone playing a banjo.

The banjo players are all hiding in the woods, right next to the river.

Ralph, Will you be in Tucson ? We can do a drive and you can ride shotgun if you'll be here on Sunday, the 16th.

Dan, I am trying to generate some interest down here for next Sat. in Mesa. My Cobra is still down because of an electrical problem. I hope to have it running by Thursday night. I do plan to be there in the late afternoon. I do hope that you guys will be able to field a dozen Cobras, so many of you are having problems that I am tempted to come up there for a few days and help you get on the road.

Hey John,
I'll be free on april 13th, and haven't been to Tucson for a while. I could drop over and help with that elec. problem. Let me know if I can help.
By the way, Dairy Queen does have the best ice cream.

I think it only fair to warn you guys the CIA tracks Ralph's whereabouts via satelite imagery--sometimes he uses a thunderstorm and heavy lightening/rain to block the imagery from the sat.

Lonestar #024, Thank you for the offer. About a month ago I gave my computer to another Cobra owner and he gave me his older style one. I drove home after the swap and started cutting out the old computer wires that I didn't need, the Cobra is carbed now. I checked that the electric system was working after I cut each wire, I turned the key ON and the fan came on and lights, so I continued to cut. On the second day I tried to start the car and after a few attempts I realized that there was no fuel pressure or fuel in the carb. It would start but not run when I poured gas into the carb. I have traced the wire, red/black, from the fuel pump to the inertial switch and forward into the back of the dash. I have not been able to find the fuel pump relay, that is what I believe I need to find and check for correct operation. The wire disappears behind the dash and into a bundle of about 20 wires and I can not find it coming out. Basically I have been lying upside down in the drivers footbox with the flashlight in my mouth and one hand in the bundle of wires trying to trace the wire. Oh, yes, I even went and reconnected all of the wires that I'd cut and installed the computer. If you do have the day off on Thursday I'll buy lunch if you can help me. I live in Catalina. #520-825-9197 PS. Your radiator will be late, Dale has dropped to 30th.

John, Thanks for the offer. My problems are all solved due to the aid of an automotive genius. He took one look, analyzed the issue and I had it fixed in a couple of minutes after that. I would be happy to let you borrow him, but you'll have to arrange it sometime after school.
I hope to see you next Saturday.

Thanks Mikiec, I will devote the week to geting it started. Does this mean that you are on the road again ? Looking forward to seeing you guys on Saturday. Lonestar#024, Thanks for the phone call and suggestions. I tried the inertial switch but it seemed to be OK. I will check it with a meter tomorrow evening. John

John, my problem was out of gas, out of luck and almost out of time. Thank goodness for young kids with big mouths who know when to speak up.. I should have the damned distributor cap gilded and hang it in my living room to remind me the humility is a virtue!
