No we don't. Most run T5 five speed, TKO 5 speed or T56 6 speed. Old Chevy t-10 doesn't have overdrive gear.

The Borg Warner T-10 was a very common tranny and pretty reliable. The age of most mean they need a bunch of parts (if the case is good) not just a quick reseal and maybe a sync. If you need many parts/gears then you deeper than the cost of a newer O D model tranny pretty quick. As Bob B pointed out the overdrive of 5th or 6th gear is handy for sure. If in great shape I would run it but trade up if I got a chance before install. I like the gears and it is a tough tranny, give ya 20 bucks for it .... after you find out if it is in good shape of course or you rebuild it.

I still have the original one in my 1960 Corvette. They are not very strong. If it's been run in a car that had decent traction, odds are that it will have a twisted main shaft. Parts are VERY expensive when you can find them (excluding the crap from China).

Hey Jim,
I also have had and abused many Vettes and T10's. I would rather have the old rock crusher but I like the T10. The one in you 60 Vette is working well but if you need a parts source give me a shout. I would need to dig a little but found a great source for gears and even new cases a while ago (American). They were not cheap but do-able.

I have used a T-10 for 19 years. The way the 289 is cammed and with its short stroke it is rev happy....I've used it for many years, athough occasional I find myself hunting for the 5th gear that my daily driver has.

Default thanks everybody

OK so it sounds like I need to take this thing apart and if it is perfect go ahead and use it but if it needs any work just forget it...
Besides I will still need a windsor bell housing for my T10, fork, shifter, ect....
