Fellow AZ cobras,

I am planning to trailer my car to Kirkham's homecoming event June 18th - 21st. I have a buddy who lives in Mesa who I plan to visit either before the Kirkham event or drive down from Provo Utah a few days afterwards. During my visit I was hoping to meet up with your club to see if there are any scheduled events. I was checking your threads from a year ago in June 2007 and I see there were some car shows up in Heber and Show Low. I also gather from the discussions it is very hot in June and some cobras stay indoors keeping cool. Are there any events planned in June, which I should consider when planning my trip to visit Arizona either before or after Utah?

Another reason for wanting to meet you guys is someday I'll be possibly living out there during the winter months. My parents have a house they built in Surprise AZ that us kids own. I can see myself being another snow bird in the not too distant future. I know what you're thinking, "Just great, Ralph had to tell everyone about his buying property in AZ and now every WCCC cobra is tagging along."

Any information about June car events would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Mark

Ralph, June is a great month for a breakfast drive to Pine or Payson. Usually two or three times a month.. Just keep you eyes on the board.

Mark, I still need to know if you are a Cubs or a White Sox fan. No one from Chicago wants to admit their loyality. Oh yes, who are 'da Bears? Are they your hockey team ? I can't tell you how many bitterely cold days I sat at Solider's Field waiting for them to win. Two web sites that show what cars shows and events are going on in Arizona are: www.desertcruisers.com and www.cruisinarizona.com . Of course this one here is the best. In June in the Phoenix area you can expect 28 days out of 30 to be 100+ degrees. The good thing is that the nights cool off somewhat, that does not happen in July and August. My suggestion would be to visit Arizona on your way to Utah, that way you can take the northern (cooler) route home. Looking forward to seeing you in June.

Mark, just remember your oven mits and come on down. John didn't mention the AZCOBRAS.com site that also lists specifically our gang's doings. Mr. Pink does a real good job of keeping the site current.

Mark, here is a Car Show up in the White Mountains. Too hot down here in late June:

Nice show, indoors and up in altitude.

Dan,

A breakfast drive sounds like a good idea. Then later on a few cold beers to chill out poolside.

John,

I guess if I had to pick a team it would be the Cubs. My grandparents lived on the northside and every summer took me and my cousin down to Wrigley Field. On the other hand the White Sox have brought a championship to Chicago so you have to be their fan too.

Thanks for the input about AZ weather. Looks like I will plan to visit Az before Utah. When the time gets closer I'll contact you guys to see what is going on. See ya around!

Mark

Lived in Aurora and know the old Field well. Chicago Yacht Club is a great place too if you like sailing. Remember mine advise about a top when you are drivng, say about around Aug 20th.
