Who's going to the Car Show in Globe?
After John buys ice cream who is going to stay for the show?
Seems like someone went to a lot of trouble for us to have a special place to park and it would be a shame if no one showed up.
It will be a long day so is anyone going to stay for it?
We are undecided and don't want to be the only one there.

I am planing to stay. John PS. Does anyone know where the DQ is at ? If we leave Superior about 8:30 am will we be ready for ice cream at 9:00 am ? Is anyone really familiar with Globe , perhaps we could do a trip around town before the dessert. Remember the Firemen will be serving both breakfast and lunch to the show participants.

John, the DQ is next to the station we stopped at so one of the non-Ford Cobras could fix his engine last time we went there for lunch. It's on the road out of town toward the turn off to Hwy 260.

Non-Ford engine in a Cobra ? Tell me it isn't true. OHHH, I seem to remember that you do have a non-traditionalist up there. He is the guy who is constantly working on his non-Ford engine. If he happens to break down again outside of Globe I don't think that he will count in the "Challenge" i'll bring some duck tape, a coat hanger, and a bandaid for him.

A non-Ford engine in a Cobra is like those "Origional" T-buckets with(the other manufacturers engine) in 'em. That was only one barrel. I am saving the other one for later.

Are we going to enter the show or just show up. I'm not clear on this issue. I would like to see what's going on at the show.

Mike, So far, it's Dave and John and you and me and Mikie at the show in Globe. I've not heard from anyone else about the show. There are several folks just going to Superior for free DQ.

Thought Mikie said at the picnic he wasn't going to the show?
Guess we will have to hear from him.
You get food and FREE ice cream?

Hi Mike, Speaking for the Tucson guys, only a couple of us have indicated an interest in attending the show. I spoke with the promoter, Jim Elgan( 928-701-4242) this morning. If you mail in your entry + $30 today he should receive it on Friday. If you want to enter/attend on Saturday the cost is $35. Free breakfast & lunch, dash plaque & goodie bag, and lots of awards. It looks like about three of the Phoenix guys will be in the show. More show info is found at cruisinarizona.com Hope to see you on Saturday, John

As I said, the President's position is open. Anyone can have it for April 12th. Come on you Phoenix guys get it while it's hot. OH, by the way, if you accept this position you get to pay for the Tucson Cobras free DQ. Mikiec is really worried this year and can't see paying for the ice cream. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

I'm not going to enter the show but I will hang around to look it over. I also want to stay long enough for Chalo's to be open so I can get my Adovada (Adobada) fix. They've been closed the last two times I've been to Globe and I have withdrawal. This, of course, is predicated on not breaking anything Friday night at Firebird.

So what is this, a drive to Superior and back? I'm in for the show. I'll be there for most of the day, anyway.. Anyone who would care to hang around and protect me from all the nasty mopars and chevys will be greatly appreciated.

Dan....Lorraine and I will hang out and take in the show with you and the rest of the "east siders". Not sure if a drive to Glove for a free DQ is worth it. But throw in the show and it makes a good day. Should be hot in the valley and cool in Globe.

Mike...
Don't think about it being a free DQ. Think about a chance to bond with our Tucson brothers and sisters. Also, we get to fleece John again.

Ah yes.. The fleecing of John. That was a good book I understand. Never had a chance to read it, but I'll make up for that this year.
