heartfelt best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured. From the sound of it, it could have been much worse. Hope to see all of you (who lost your cars) behind the wheel of another Cobra soon.

Yow... this incident oughta send the Cobra accident statistics through the roof... and it wasn't even due to driver ability (or lack thereof)- at least in respect to the Cobra owners. such a shame...

I just spoke with Stuart and he is in good spirits. He has had two operations on two fingers and knukles of his left hand. He has just found out that he will have two more operations and be in the hospital a little longer.

First of all,

Best Wishes to Stuart ( Mr. Ironhead) for a speedy recovery, including his family and involved friends that were there at the accident. "You all did a great job!"

It appears that all involved were very lucky that there weren't more injured folks... God was there for you!

It would be great if somebody could get the police report so the incident could be reviewed to see what actually occurred. A good review might help other Cobra Club folks develop an improved method of caravaning while on group cruises. Perhaps some basic emergency procedures might also come out of this to help others to "know what, and what not to do during an emergecy like this one. I'm not being critical or trying to make anyone look bad, but knowledge is power and it could save a life sometime.
I use to be a safety expert in my prior life with a large utility company and had many experiences doing investigations. By doing thorough reviews of accidents we were able to reduce or eliminate some future accidents and the number on injuries.

By the way, I like the suggestion from Bill S & family to offer help to those the might need it with their repairs. If those that are going to fix their cobra asked for specific parts...guesswhat they could appear..we all would like to help.

Anyway, Hope to meet all of you at the Route 66 cruise next month in Williams AZ.
PS "Get well, Ironhead I want to meet you".

I think everyone knows what happened but they are not going to post it. It would not be good form old chap.

Speak to those that were there and you will know the answer too...

Bill has a point, but then again, so does Mulv. Two of my friends were recently in motorcycle accidents, two separate events, each ended up in the hospital but will be OK. I can assure you, I got to the bottom of every little detail concerning what happened. I ride my motorcycle everyday, these were my friends, I wanted/needed to know. Perhaps it's best done on a 'need to know' basis, friends and such, and not just for general discussion. In both cases I was directly involved in recovering the bikes.

But Bill has a point...

My best to Stuart and family.

Good to hear that things are improving.

Stuart hope you are soon out and about sorting the Cobra out.

You can tell the real enthusiasts - goes something like this..

"I'm OK, hows the Cobra is the damage bad?."

My thoughts are with all you guys there.

Mikie -

I recognised one or two of the Cobras from the 'Launch Pad'. ( Mulv's old SPF etc.)

Please pass on my wishes to the guys whom I have met at Hersh's.

Bernie

Bernie,

One of the cars was Mulv's old cobra, but you do not know the owner. You met Stuart at Hersh's house. The Black Contemporary owner is unknown to you.

I'll pass on your wishes.

Mike

At one point when I was telling my friends about the motorcycle accident my buddy had and I quickly added, "But the bike is OK", before even telling then how the rider was. I caught myself and realized how strange that must have sounded. He'll be out of the hospital sometime this week, with luck, but the bikes OK...

Best wishes to all involved. Not good when folks get hurt trying to have a little fun. Even worse is not getting out and trying.

Earnie - Is a moped really a bike? (just messing with you!)

Arizona Guys!

Wow! I almost got sick when I read about this accident. I am sure we all feel a little bit vulnerable when we take our Cobras out on the highway. But to actually see an accident where multiple cars were involved, scared me even more. I am truly glad no one was terribly injured in this multiple incident and hope for Stuart's rapid recovery.

I am also very sorry to see such wonderful cars ending up totalled. What a loss! I am sure you are all on top of the insurance issue, but I truly hope you all get another car built to your satisfaction at no cost to you. In California we have so many uninsured motorists, it is truly frightening to be in an accident. I assume Arizona is better in making sure people carry proper insurance!

And Dan, I hope you get another car soon, because we would love to have you visit San Diego again this summer (arguments or not!) and participate in the 4th of July parade in Scripps Ranch. I was impressed when Dan made it to our little parade with his great Contemporary. I just hope he can do it again. I promise you low speeds and no accidents!

My best to all of you affected by this mess. Let it not ever happen again!

Skip, THanks for the invite. If all goes well, I will have another car for the Rt. 66 run in May and the Scripps Ranch parade on July. I enjoyed that very much. Especially the strum and stumble corp from the hospital. They were neat with thier precision IV bottles.
