Default Stuart Price

Has anyone heard any latest development on Stuart Prices injuries? Is he still hospitalized? Any info would be greatly appreciated. We were looking forward to hooking up him again this year. The "Tan Man" will be in our thoughts.

Holy crap... I just found this thread. Glad to hear you guys are all fine. Sorry about the cars. From looking at the pics, did this happen out by Gold Canyon? We had a Mustang run last year and the same thing happened there. Some guy in an old chevy beater truck missed my rear bumper by a millemeter at the last light and took out a mint 70' Mach 1 and a mint 67'. That's a bad stretch of road.....

I thought by "act of congress" that Tan Man's offical name was changed to "Iron Head". I mean what congress says is what we have to follow right? I mean they know what is best for all of us. So "Tan Man" please change your call sign. Otherwise the INS, IRS, NCWAA, Young Democrats, Old Republicans, NSA and members of the forign war committee will have to make some recomendations...

I think 'Iron Neck Johnson' (see: Steve Martin's The Jerk) is more appropriate.

First I would like to wish Stuart and the Gal in the RAV4 a complete recovery.

The weekend this happened I read a couple of the reports of the accident and was just thankful everyone was OK. But this week I noticed that the amount of traffic on that site was now 3 or 4 times what is was, so I sat down and read it all, and the well-wishers. But what drove me to sit down and write this is the way the majority of you have convicted and hung the gal in the RAV4 and Stuart well I will get back to that. Below as written, I just removed the names… but as a group you may want to read and reflect on what you have said.

1) "get a rope" for the SUV driver?!

2) “Sorry for the DPS officer's car as it was also hit by the lady that was in a hurry.”

3) “One woman seemingly not paying attention”

4) “Wonder if a cell phone was in her ear?”

5) “idiot in the SUV didn't kill any of the rest of us.”

6) “It's terrible that so many people had to suffer damage because of one person's stupidity!”

7) “and where to send the hit man for the lunatic woman. I'll bet she was on the phone.”

8) “That SUV-er hopefully got a wake-up call.”

9) “I am thinking the lady in the SUV had better have allot of insurance”

10) “May the Woman in the SUV pay more attention from now on”

11) “saving his life and some bimbo on a cell phone totals your beautiful CCX cobra”

12) “As for the driver of the RAV4, anybody know if she cited?”

13) “Part of me hopes she recovers quickly and part of me wants to throttle her. “

14) “and it wasn't even due to driver ability (or lack thereof)- at least in respect tothe Cobra owners” .........REALLY

15) “Maybe she can sell a kidney!”

16) “I guess its time to inform (again insurance company) them of the error of her ways.

I found it very interesting that Stuart who He himself while coming up on SLOW traffic lost control. Not unlike the woman in RAV4 who from one account the traffic she was in, I quote one of you “I was watching that lane of traffic go by at or near the speed limit” so with a DPS vehicle and cobras every where the traffic had not slowed but was traveling at speed.

Who knows what triggered her to slam on the brakes maybe someone just in front jammed on the brakes after seeing the DPS car and she did the same and lost control, sound familiar. Stuart on the other hand flew across the highway and thank G O D he hit no one unlike the Gal.

No one has said Stuart you are lunatic, wonder if he had a cell phone in his ear; hope he got a wake up call......

Only ONE person said “Anybody find out how badly she was injured?”

I know a few of you; you are great group of guy’s and gals but come on. What Stuart and the Gal did where equally stupid. I’m tired of this blame game. We have very high performance cars and we at all times should be aware of everything around us. But the statement that broke my back was.

“Once again the stupidity of one person’s actions can change the fate of many”

That is a very true statement but the person that it was directed at was not the one who started the whole calamity.

Someone made statement that can we should learn from this…. YES YES YES. But when one of our own makes a mistake he or she should be accountable for his or her actions. The fact that Stuart is very excited to get back into the seat again may make some of you take notice.

I know this may not be popular post, but I believe it to be true and had to be said. If you plan on telling me where to get off, fine, but take the time and really understand what I'm saying.

it would seem to me that the circumstances of having someone suddenly slam on the brakes in front of you (Stewart) and having to take evasive action, is far different than approaching an accident scene at speed and then suddenly realizing traffic has been slowed and then slamming on her brakes and hitting several cars as well as first responder vehicles. We are all at risk for a car in front of us suddenly changing speed, however, if you cruise through an accident scene ignoring the obvious, you should be held accountable. Maybe you should check the RAV4 web site for her friends account of the matter, you may find it more to your liking. I would not expect to be honored as cobra owner of the year in Arizona this year if I was you.

Joe, I really understand what you are saying and I believe that there are a couple of facts that you really need to consider at this juncture:

1. No one (at least not me) is really sure about what happened with Stuart at the time this was all written. In any event, Stuart's actions, initially, only affected Stuart. We had stopped to lend assistance, but at that time, no one had any ill effects other than Stuart.
2. Since this took place, some folks who were there, who were not directly affected by the accident have made some revelations to me that are not printed. To wit, the woman was still on the cell phone while she was trying to control her SUV with the brakes locked up.

Now Stuart has paid the price for his error, what ever that may be. I'm sure he has personal regrets not to mention the citation(s) written. BUT.. (and that is capitalized for a reason)... Stuart's failure or short sightedness or what ever led to his getting wrapped up in the wire only affected Stuart. The lady on the cell phone affected several other folks. So I have a difficult time understanding why although they are related incidents, the causes of the two separate collisions should be related. What you are implying makes as much sense to me as the idea of "comparitive liability" which while being the law in Arizona, is STUPID, as it is applied. Why a person should being held liable for an accident just because they have a higher insurance coverage and they happen to have been there. "If you hadn't been in the intersection, my client would not have hit you when they ran the red light". That argument never made sense to me and I'm sure it doesn't to anyone who injects a modicum of logic into the discussion. So hold Stuart responsible for the second collision is purely illogical and holds no merit in my opinion. You could, I guess following your thought process hold me partially responsible for the demise of CCX 3209 becuase I got up that morning and decided to drive to the show in Globe. Sorry, I am a firm believer in people taking responsibility for thier own actions. Stuart for getting wrapped up in the wire, (if... and I have no direct knowledge about that part of the accident... there was no one else involved) and the young woman in the SUV for wrecking my car and Jeff's car and the DPS vehicle. To my mind, your argument just doesn't wash.

Joe,
I read your post a couple of times to better understand or at the least get the quotes correct.
More to the point or your post as I understood it, people were willing to blame the RAV4 driver but she was a victim of the original accident. Is that your point???

If you made the point we should be willing to hold all to the same standards of responsibility for the action and outcome I would tend to accept that. If you contend the RAV4 was the victim of the first accident B.S. and not responsible for driving into a parked cars and a parked car with flashing lights on top B.S. B. S. B. S.

Stuart was involved in an accident .......... I really do not know if anybody else would not have wrecked given same circumstances and timing. He was the driver and he did wreck. He did not impact another car but wrecked regardless.

The RAV4 driver had the phone in hand when dust settled but she is responsible with or without the phone for her own actions.

To Quote you directly Joe = But the statement that broke my back was.
Once again the stupidity of one person’s actions can change the fate of many
Could not have been any closer to the truth, could it Joe?
