Default Who says you can't find classic's in the AZ desert

I had a job today on the outskirts of Phoenix. While driving around I found a few interesting cars sitting in peoples backyards. Some cars like the 65/66 Stang and 67 convert were just sitting behind an abandoned shack. I'm going to have to check out the county records and see who owns them and send them some letters. Most of these cars were found on dirt roads out of site from the main roads.

All the cars I photographed were shot within a 4 square mile area.

There was also a crapload of old trucks too...50's mainly.

These two might be good deals and for sale

Really nice convertable

Anyone for an old Pinto rust free?

Nice Bird.

Cool looking Ranchero

Convertable CUDA... WOW

72' Satelite Sebring????

Coupe..

Another Coupe, looks like work stop after the Vietnam war

Galaxie 500?

Rust free Pinto Country Squire

???????

Jav?

More Galaxies

The red 64 1/2 coupe looks like they hung the engine out to age. Bet it's well aged by now!

Hiker; Nice pictures. If you find out the info., I would be interested in the 1965-66 fastback from you (if you buy it) or the owner now. P.S. keep taking pictures in your travels. Regards, Justin

The military stores a lot of planes in the AZ desert because of the dry climate. Davis-Monthan Boneyard, thousands of planes. Those cars might look old and dirty but probably not bad as far as rust and body rot go. Good thread.

Showing up with a wad of cash might be a lot more effective than letter.

And the story behind half or more of these cars will probablye be "I'm going to fix it up someday" Unfortunately, the guy telling you this will be in his later years and he's been saying that since he parked the car there in his 20's!

index Some HORRIBLE stories on there!
