Default Horsepower vs altitude

I took the Willys out for a few runs with my performance meter. The horsepower numbers were pretty low. I found the calculator for horsepower vs altitude, turns out at 7000' you only have about 76% of your sea level HP. Here is the link to the calculator:

David,
There is less oxygen at the higher altitudes. The car runs perfect, but it is female (no balls) at 7000'

You lose about 2-3% per thousand feet. Give or take. I live at 6,400', and my car makes pretty good power. I was at hastings recently; 2200'. Wow! What a differance. That extra 10-12% is really noticable. Since I have EFI, I just drove it off the trailer and onto the track. No tuning needed.

EFI will maintain drivability by adjusting the fuel curves for altitude. But it won't give your hp back. The only thing that can do that is FI.

I spent time up to 12,000 feet in Colorado in July and boy do you lose a lot of hp up there.
