I'm home
Well, I'm back.
I had a trial run at the hospital on Thursday. I got into the pre-op ward. they strapped me down and used me like a pin cushion. The first attempt at an IV came up empty. Yup, they got the needle in and nothing. Told them I was empty on that side. The second one, on the other side, IV kept on leaking and I told them I must be full. One nurse walked by my bed carrieng a couple of plastic bags and I asked if she was the dept. bag lady. She said something like nope but I do have the biggest needles in the dept. Another nurse was wheeling a gurney past and I told her she needed to pay a toll of 25 cents. I think she said something about getting the bag lady.
They sent me home.
Apparantly both of the surgeons from the office were called in to do an emergency repair on some guy who went to Mexico to have his surgery.
So... On Friday we went back. The same nurses were in the pre-op. We had a good time with them.
I was dismayed that when they came to take me away nobody was wearing white coats.
I got home yesterday. Slept most of the time as I could not get any sleep at the asylum, I mean hospital

Welcome home Mikie. Good to hear you are vertical (sometimes). Give yourself some time to heal. Don't rush things. We all wish the best for you and some of us hope to see you Tuesday at our regular 5 N Diner night. (If we can recognize you without your beard.)

I'm glad to see you are doing well. I agree with Broberg - give yourself time to heal. It's not easy to follow the Doc's instructions, but do it anyway. You listening?
