Best Dyno shop in the Phoenix area
Please give me your opinion who has the best Dyno shop in the greater Phoenix area. Includes best work and prices.
Is it time for a "Club Dyno day" in the next few months?

I could go for a dyno day. I've never put my car through that and it would be interesting, and probably disheartening, but certainly fun, unless I had the same results that Fitz had a couple years ago.

The last time we did a Dyno day, Paul G. brought a grill and did the burgers and dogs.
I was going to setup a day at Anthem but..........
If you find a place and they can accomidate us on a Saturday I'll get an email out.

The guy at AZ Dyno Chip (ADC), http://www.arizonadynochip.com/ , knows his stuff. It's a Dynojet, so inertia type dyno, but he really does knows how to work the thing and tune. Probably shouldn't be tuning on a dyno day though. He'll produce graphs corrected to SAE value with zero smoothing, so they're realistic. We had a dyno day a while back at AZ Dyno Chip (ADC) It went really smooth, efficient and was really fun. The dyno day we had at Arizona Dyno Chip had the guy that runs the place making dogs, burgers and chips with pop. He's really a great guy, quiet and modest, but you can see his brain working while he works the dyno. He loves Fords too.

Dynojets, when used correctly, are going to come out very close to HP calculated from trap speed of 1/4 mile. Definitely the most fun for a dyno day.

I used XACT Dyno
A fellow named Tim runs XACT. His is a real fluid dyno, so none of the problems inertia drums create wrt spin-up rate. His dyno bolts to the hub, so no tire spin on big power cars, resulting in errors. No tie downs and sand bags for weight/traction needed. I wouldn't trust an inertial dyno, unless I had no other local option. Tim has a weather station built-in for true SAE corrections. He's also a real sharp tuner who found I make the same power at 28 deg advance that I get at 32, 34, or 36, so we backed the timing to where I'll never detonate! He can handle the power from any of the local Cobras; he tuned mine to 540 rwhp in 2 hrs. The thing that was really cool was that he could set in the computer the time to ramp from 3000 to 6000 rpm (we used 6 sec) and just floor it, the computer on the dyno controlled the load to linearly ramp the rpms up. Not like the old days!

Sounds good too but I am lost.
Gordon, where is a good place other then Dyno Comp in north scottsdale.
They are pricey too.
Remember, everyone will be disappointed in the results...always are.

Here's a short video of a few cars from the last dyno day I went to at Arizona Dyno Chip. Seriously a good place for confident results with a good guy running the dyno which knows what he's doing. The video represents a Ford GT as stock, but I think it had a pully. All the other cars are highly modified. We've had all these cars to the drag strip and the trap speeds come out pretty much dead on to the results. I really trust this place.

I had read that a local Ferrari shop was going to combine with Anthem's, did that ever materialize prior to?

Just a thought, but why don't we go drag racing again instead? It certainly showcases power output and is more fun than just spinnin your wheels on the roller. The big winners still have braggin rights (Karl and Greg). Fast timeslips have more cache than dyno sheets anyway...
Any takers?

I'm good to go for either. I found that the lower brackets off the differential housing for the lower bar of my 4-link, were badly bent to the right. I've gotten them pretty well straightened out and will thoroughly gusset them. I'm sure I'll have to work at adjusting the suspension again to keep the car going straight. I like the idea of the fluid dyno, but would rather do that one for actual tuning rather than just getting bragging numbers.

Eric, I'm sure you weren't disappointed with the numbers you pulled. You built your own motor and didn't have somebody telling you that you'd have huge numbers, after paying them huge dollars.

Count me in but it will be another 6 weeks before I can get a drieway to get my car out of the garage. I am anxious to see how Roush's numbers stack up against an independent dyno

If you go I'll be there. I'd like to see that on the dyno for sure.
Which exhaust do you have on your CSX?
