Default Jake's Corner run

Thanks to Dan for a good idea to do this run today, I think I counted eight cars. What a blast! First time for me on this run so the scenery was spectacular, and no rain. Great job on the lead too Dan -- thanks for the extra gas stop just for me . Nice that you guys have local knowledge of where the police would be; yep, and they were right there.

We got an added bonus when we tangled with some BMW's doing a club run on AZ-87. I noticed some of their passengers were taking our pictures, hmmm. I had my hands full though so I couldn't wave.

Gourmet burgers and such at Jake's Corner along with some good conversation.

I thought I might be the only guy to punch it thru the tunnel but everybody did it and it was so loud it made me sick for a second -- cool!

I took some pictures at the Shell station where we met up and they're here:

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...view=slideshow

I also did a couple of panoramas at Jake's Corner and will post them later when I process them.

It was fun, wasn't it? It was funny that the guys with the Beemers were zooming up the road then slow way down to take pictures of someone elses cars..

Going over the top at Matzetzal, I had the Iceberg watch posted. It was KOLD by mostly dry. A good run. Lots of folks having a great time.

Next week should be even better..

Sounds like a great day. Sorry I missed it. I was at the Kruse Auction and the Gun Show. Boy! was the gun show crowded! Lots of guns and ammo sold. Sign of the times I guess. Auction pretty normal. Only saw 1 FFR for sale and about 50 GT-H. All looked alike....beatup by renters.
Sandy, again, great photo work.
Next week will be even better..

Sure was a nice drive for those of us willing to risk getting our cars dirty. There were moments that I thought we'd surely hit some rain, by the looks of the heavy clouds but just a little road mist was all we hit. Plenty of road Nazi cars out but Dan's sedate pace kept us all out of trouble and no one received a "good driver" citation. My fingers are still crossed that I've cured my intermittent hot start gremlins since the car started many times yesterday. Praise d'Lord!

Please forgive me, Father Dan, for I have sinned.
I'm SO ashamed I've become such a wimp! I saw the clouds on Saturday morning and decided not to go. I'll be there next weekend, even if cloudy.

Got up it was raining out. Went to the show anyway. Roads were wet but the skies cleared. Got a couple of possible good hits on Ginny's car.

Went to 83rd ave as it was Oldsmobile Jim's b-day.

Glad you guys had a great time.

Had too much going on at the shop, and too little gas $$s. Sorry I missed it but will try for next weekend.

PS, I vote Sandy as the new official AZCobras photog!

Well, I'll usually be totin' the camera along and am happy to take photos when I can. Thanks for the kind words.

By the way, the panoramas I took at Jakes Corner Bar during the run have been processed and can be found here:

http://members.cox.net/panoramas/

After opening, click on the info icon for notes and how to work the thing.

(A heads-up: Requires broadband because of large files)

That would be the smart thing to do, then again, who said I was smart!
My wife had her new knee installed a week ago and will start 12 weeks of therapy next week. I will talk to her surgeon to see if she can do her therapy in warmer weather after a month or so.
I bet my Cobra thinks I've abandoned her in Maricopa.
By the way, it's 2 above zero tonight!

Let's see... It's winter time. Stan is still in Chicago where the snow is ass deep to a tall indian. Mesa has no snow and very little rain. It's 2 degrees there not counting wind chill and yesterday it was 81 here not counting wind chill. We had some clouds a week or so ago, he has clouds all the time. You figure it out.

We miss ya man.. hurry back.

Dan, are you calling me "Stan" like in "Oliver and Stanley" or is there another goofball in Chicago instead of AZ?

Ralph - sorry to be butting in here but I had a full knee joint replacement
4 years ago and 2 months of therapy was all I had - the third month I was
walking all over scandinavia on a tour. She will be glad she did it after
the two months are over. One of the best things I have done for myself.
Make sure she does the exercises and she'll do fine. Warmth helps!

Hope your wife is OK. We miss you guy's. Not really, we just miss her, Ha Ha. Glad to hear you are not a Ralphsicle in Chicago. I do hope the doc says the therapy can be done here and you can enjoy the rest of the nice weather, although today the wind is only blowing about 95 MPH.
looking forward to hearing from you.
