Weather or not!
Hi all you AZ Cobra Guys and Gals, how's the weather today in "your neck of the woods?"
I've been driving my cobra for a couple of years now and the car has never touch any water except for an occasional spray on the undercarrage from an errant broken sprinkler.
Yesterday ( Sat.), I attended a local benefit car show here in Lake Havasu City. The weather was looking bad all morning with an accasional sprinkle but not too much. Just after the trophies were handed out, all hell broke loose, it poured from the heavens.
Well, I had to drive home (about 5 miles) down Hwy. 95 in the driving rain (I mean driving rain). No wipers, just Rain X, a cap and sweat shirt hood on top.
Suprisingly, most of the hard drops flew over the top of the windshield at speed, but the water ran in just under the edges of the windshield on both sides.
I think most folks driving by thought I must be pretty dumb driving around in an open car at that moment....I guess I was....Oh Well I had to get home.
It took me about an hour to dry the car out, which included removing the floor carpeting, but everything else was good. The best and most important part was that the motor never quit.
Well, how is the weather in your neck of the woods today?
Bill

Hi Bill, Here in "God's Country" we had a little rain last night with more forecasted for today. We'll probably get it since there are some pretty nasty looking clouds hanging around. The clean up after getting caught in a rain is pretty much the worst part, after you get your body warmed back up. My worst drenching was a few years ago at the Christmas party at Hersh's. Rained practically all day, had a couple inches of water in the floor and we had to drive about 50 miles home in a heavy rain. I had drag radials on the rear so I didn't want to take the chance on the freeway so we took surface streets the whole way. The best part was all the body rubbing I had to do to warm my wife up after we got home. yah!

As of 9:19am the sky is cloudy and looks like a little more rain for today down here in Mesa. Why don't you advertise your local events, in the future, and maybe (weather permitting) some of us might come up to joint you?

Bill,
Got wet going home from the Saturday might car show. Well, actually the car got wet. I have kept a cheap poncho in the car for the past 8 years. Just in case. I think I used it for the 10th time last night.
Rain X works well, but I do have wipers.

The weather has been great all week here in Prescott, had the car out several times, but when I woke up this morning it looked like this.

I have to agree with Chuck. This was the view off of the porch in Overgaard this AM. Kind of chilly at about 27f.

FWIW, So Cal getting hammered today. Was planning to go for a long drive...so much for that right now. Looks like some clearing perhaps this afternoon, but not sure if the roads will be sufficiently dry by then.

On the far, far west side near the White Tank Mountains, we had a very light sprinkle this morning and it has been off and on cloudiness all day long. Right now the sun is shinning brightly but to the north, it looks a little dismal. CSX4266 never gets wet!
