Woohoo GOkart Time!!!!
So what's it been? Almost a year I've been wrenching on this thing? Had the first start last month. So this month I figured get it out and drive the damn thing. Good idea huh?
Had to get the driveshaft lengthened a few inches, it finally got done a few days ago. Still waiting on some stuff for the exhaust but I figured, screw it, I'm driving the damn thing..
Here's the vid. I'm out to go clean off the driveway. Damn new LS7 clutch and it grabbing right off the floor. Man I dunno what to say, this car is gonna be LOADS of fun..

Daniel, good that you gave yourself a nice Valentines Day present. Didn't see any flashing red or blue lights so the locals must not have gotten after you. Git er done.

Better the driveway than your shorts, looks like you might be having some road time come summer....cruised your website, lot of nice pictures, glad to see a family project...keep up the good work.

Had one occasion where I had to check my shorts. Not gonna lie. There's a little side street next to the development that I used for the test drives. Nice little stretch of road that nobody takes since it dead ends. After I took the car out a few times and made sure everything was kosher I got it on a few times and rowed through to 3rd gear. Scared the crap outta me and I was giggling like a kid at christmas time..
I will say that the little poem is true. Respect the car or it will kill you.

Way to go.... even if is a shrine to Karl.
Just remember, if the locals catch you on the road with it before it is registered, they could impound it.
Looking forward to having you join us.

Thanks Mike. Yes since the first drive went smooth the next time it will be on the road is after it's legal. Don't wanna take any chances. Speaking of which can I get it to the gelcoat stage and take it down for registration? What's all gotta be done to besides the usual working headlights, tail lights, blinkers, etc..?
Dan, what sounds are you talking about? Besides the open headers which isn't very quiet..

Sounded like something being dragged across a concrete floor. Maybe I've been around Karl too long..

Congrats
Now the funs starts, you will find that your motor/tranny choice will be quite hair raising at times. I have 450hp with a t-56, 6th gear is almost useless except for gas milage. I hit 165mph @4500rpm in 5th at Firebird. Look at the Proautosports or Nasa websites for track dates, it is the only way that you are going to be able to open up even partially
Have fun

Why cover up that beauty with a car body. It is perfect just the way it is.

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking into it after I get it on the road, legal, and all the bugs worked out. I'd love to get her on the track and stretch the legs. What rear ratio do you have and what rpm do you cruise at with 6th?

As much as I'd like to leave it this way. The body is what attracts me. Sorry to say but I've admitted I'm a typical guy and looks come first..haha
