Default Santa Barbara Wheelsandwaves - May 17

This is a great show www.wheelsandwaves.com and a chance to meet up with the Bay Area Cobra Club members. Here's what the Bay area club normally does. Friday-drive to Santa Barbara. Saturday - day trip around the countryside, group cocktail party and group dinner. Sunday - show. Monday- return home.

This a trip the ladies will love. There is 1 mile of shopping and dining along the show street. The guys can hang out while the ladies shop.

The BACC normally reserves rooms at a very nearby motel that has undergroud parking which they reserve for the Cobra's. Great time for everyone. I plan to do the following:

Leave Fiday about ????? so as not to hit the LA rush hour. Lorraine will fly in on SAT morning and back on Sunday PM. I'll drive back on Monday. It says that both Sam and Chip Foose will be there as judges. Weather will be great at that time of year in Santa Barbara. The BACC changed to this show instead of the Knotts show. They used to conflict but Waves and wheels moved to may to have better weather. It's about 500 mile one way or about 6 hours.

Mike,

I love SB and I may be able to pursuade the wife to make this trip. Of course, for us it's an hour's drive.

I'll be running the Santa Monica Sports Car Club's Inaugural Rally on February 28th (http://www.smscc.org/) and their First friday Night Rally on March 6th. So, if I haven't broken anything serious, we'll be there!

Paul

Steve...Underground parking with a guard. Very safe and out of any bad weather or fog, if any. Normally at that time of year it's sunny and nice.

Paul....see you there.

Evidently few have been to Santa Barbara for the show if they are worried about these cars being stolen... There are cars at the show that are literally $500K to build and the town is filled with cops and car guys for the event. The SB demographic is pretty high end as well with tiny fixer upper houses going in the millions, even now. It is unlikely that anyone wil be looking to steal your kit cars.

The beautiful Nancy and I have been to the show a couple of times, once with Bernie and Hershal and once with Hershal and Paula and it is pretty cool as long as it doesn't rain. I have a picture of Hershal with Chip Foose somewhere that I will post if I can find it...

Go and enjoy, SB is fun and the Bay Area guys are all really great..

I've posted a home page for the annual BACC- Wheel's & Waves (aka Not Knott's) on the BACCEVENTS web site. Registration will be available soon.

It would be fun to have you folks come out West and join us , it's a great weekend.

Note that BACC is just the host/organizer and everyone is welcome

see ya,
Mike "monster"

Monster....I will drive over (hopefully with some other PHX guys/gals) and Lorraine will fly in on Sat morning. As soon as the hotel/motel information is available I'll book my room. We are looking forward to seeing you all again. It's been 3 years for us here in the Valley of the Sun. It will be nice to see some trees again.
