Default Anyone going to Knotts

Anyone going to the Knotts show this year? I am planning on leaving on Thursday April 23 for the Friday morning run. If anyone has the info for the run, that would also be greatly appreciated

I plan on doing Knott's. I will dig out the entry form and post more but all should be available from AHA web site or do a 2009 Knott's search.

I'm going. Just don't know what I'll drive over. If I drive the Cobra all depends on Gordon having it done in time.

See if you all can find out where they'll be placing the Cobra group this year. Because if you're not directly associated with the Shelby or Superformance dealers, they may put you somewhere in the boondocks like they did last year.

My car, along with a bunch of really nice SPF's, a Kirkham, FFR's. a couple of original CSX 2000 cars and Anthony Boosalis' original Full Comp CSX 427 car (see Youtube) were directed right next to a bunch of low riders with hydraulics going up and down all day, along with the "systems" in their cars playing rap music at unbelieveable volumes. We were nowhere near any kind of shade or grass, just a parking space in an immense parking lot that wasn't too clean as well as I recall. Could not hear any P/A announcements or the music that was playing from the stage. A lot of nice cars there to see in the end. Perhaps as a group, you can request better group placement ahead of time.

Just a heads up.

Don't bet on a good location. The Knotts mgmt is really pissed at Factory Five and may lump all the Cobras into a bad location. It seems The Kit Car folks think FFR ruined the show last year by having a same day snow at a different location. In the past Factory Five used to pay for all of their owners registration that came to the show. All were lumped together around the FFR semi and it made for a pretty large group and showing. FFR is not doing that any longer. If you guys want to wait until the middle of May and go west, try the Santa Barbara show the middle of May (Wheelstowaves). It makes Knotts look like a grammar school fair.

Post Knott's Head count

Now that it is getting close to the Knott's show, who is REALLY planning to go?

The last two years, we had our assignments way in advance.

I hope this is an indication of how many people are showing up this year. Was pretty bleak last year with the majority of FFR cars going to HB instead of Knotts.

This year, they are all returning to the nest again.

Exclamation Space Assignments

I emailed AHA this morning and just got this response:
Hi Bill,
Space assignements are in the mail this week if you sent a SASE with your registration. We've been having lots of problems with Knott's this year which is delaying our usual efficiency.

See you in a week (and a half)...
